Re: German Tea Set marked Sterling Silver 925 Handarbeit

Thanks for looking. It just has the feel of plated silver. It is very heavy, for one. The photo I show is not oxidation but a definite wearing of the silver plate. Could this be a complete fake since it doesn't have any of the traditional marks for German silver?

German Tea Set marked Sterling Silver 925 Handarbeit

My friend showed me this tea set that has been in her family for a while and which they believed to be sterling silver. All the pieces are marked as shown below: Sterling Silver 925 Handarbeit. But in my examination, there is no way that this is sterling silver. It is clearly plated as seen on the e...

13 1/4 Loth mark and initials on spoon

This spoon, which I assume is Norwegian has marks as shown. The initials are ?IH. I assume the first initial may be a D? Any idea of the age or maker? Thanks! Adam

Baby feeding spoon marked sterling and FL?

I've looked for this mark but came up empty handed. Not in any of my books, ether. Could this be a hand made piece? Or something very old? Thanks for your help. I'm assuming it's American. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412243213.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557...

Re: Hard to read mark

If the date mark is H10, I suppose that's 1972?

Hard to read mark

I'm guessing this is Danish but could really be anything. I don't know how to read the mark. It looks like BES, 3 crowns or towers?, S, H12, 830. I know the 3 towers would be Danish but I'm really confused. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412173797.jpg http://pic20.picturetrai...

I think you got it. Thanks so much! I see the dates are 1832-40. Can that be correct?

Crest on 1825 Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid teapot

Can anyone identify this crest? Also, the maker's mark can be added to Birmingham list. Thanks, all! http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412098541.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412098540.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412098...

Hard to read mark on French bowl

I assume this is a French piece (Minerva mark?) Any way to know the age? Does anyone recognize the partial maker's mark? Thanks! http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412097494.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412097495.jpg
