Two similar Dutch 1885 snuff boxes but different marks?

These two boxes are obviously very similar and both have the date mark for 1885. I couldn't identify the marks on either one, other than obviously, the lion with #2, the minerva (on top) and the date mark. Only the star on the bottom is the same on both. Any idea on maker? I did look on the Dutch si...

Marked sterling, but where to find maker's mark, if any?

This little snuff box only is marked 'sterling' that I can see. Where on the box would be the most likely spot I might find more marks or is it common to find old boxes with no marks? Based on the monogram, I assume it is American, but what period? It's 1.5 inches across. Thanks for your help! Adam ...

Silver + Marcasite Eyeglass Pendant w Tiny Marks-many photos

The marks on this are so tiny that I am having trouble identifying them on this site. I took many pictures so that someone here may recognize the shape. The bottom picture looks like a head facing left. Anyway. I am hoping for help. Thanks so much! Adam http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/...

Norwegian Silver Mark on 1855 Hovedvansaeg - maker?

I have identified this as Norwegian, Bergen, 1855 (could it be 1755?), 13 1/3 loth (83.3% silver), and month of January. Correct me if I have erred on any of these! Is the maker known? It looks like AIS or ALS. Thanks for your knowledge! Adam http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/11318429/18...

Austrian silver snuff box question

The marks on this box are pretty worn but someone etched the word Austria and some numbers on the inside. Is there any way to date this with the worn marks? http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/11318429/187121096.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/11318429/187121108.jpg http:...

Are these British hallmarks on this snuff box?

These marks seem "somewhat" British, but I am not rushing to judgment. There is something unusual about them. Any ideas?
