These two boxes are obviously very similar and both have the date mark for 1885. This little snuff box only is marked 'sterling' that I can see. Where on the box would be the most likely spot I might find more marks or is it common to find old boxes with no marks? It is the French Boar's Head mark!

The marks on this are so tiny that I am having trouble identifying them on this site. I took many pictures so that someone here may recognize the shape. I have identified this as Norwegian, Bergen, 1855 (could it be 1755?), 13 1/3 loth (83.3% silver), and month of January. Correct me if I have erred on any of these! Is the maker known? These marks seem "somewhat" British, but I am not rushing to judgment. There is something unusual about them. Any ideas?
