A Question on when an item in the U.S. must be marked "weighted"

Hello, I have a question that has arisen after I found a set of candlesticks. Context The candlesticks are the work of Victor Siedman MFG Co. of Brooklyn NY. This site states they were in operation from roughly the 1920's-1930s ( https://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_S3.html ) My question is, is i...

Re: Tray Marked "Posen" was it made by them or retailed?

Hello and thanks for taking your time to write this answer! When I looked up the marks for Bruckmann it showed I had already looked at that reference page when I was trying to research this. I got the impression from the "P" in crown that it looked like it had at least been double stamped ...

Tray Marked "Posen" was it made by them or retailed?

Hello, I have a tray with what appears to be the German "Moon and Crown" mark along with the "835" fineness and the "P" in a shield mark marked "Posen" below. There is a resource that states from the 20th century until they closed most if not all the wares the...

Unknown Makers Mark on Large Spoon First Kokoshnik

Hello, I have a spoon with the marks as shown. The spoon is approximately 9 inches long. What looks like a kokoshnik mark seems to purport to have the assayer as Anatoli Apollonovich Artsybashev working out of Vilnius. Please correct me if I am mistaken! I think the maker is marked MG yet I have bee...
