Yes, this is London 1882. The mark on the left is the duty mark and that on the right is the London uncrowned leopard's head. There is no maker's mark in your picture. Is it in the same position on the other arm? Phil Hello! Thank you very much for the answer. I found the silversmith's mark. I beli...
Hello! I would be very grateful for help. I have a spoon with 4 marks. If I'm right, it was made in London in 1882. But unfortunately I can not find out who the silversmith is. Or it is both the left and the right mark for London as they look almost the same. Best regards Per https://i.postimg.cc/hQ...
Hi, We are looking for the maker whose family name started with K and who worked in Petersburg before 1826 (assayer Yashinov). Only three candidates from Skurlov are matching the search: Johan Keibel Henrik Kemmerger Frederik Johan Kolonius КЕЙБЕЛЬ Иоганн — Вильгельм (1788–1862) КЕММЕРГЕР Генрих — ...
...Perhaps Alexander Yashinov was a good silversmith? Per The assayer is a trained gold-/silversmith, but when he is appointed to be an assayer he is not allowed to act as a gold-/silversmith during his working period as an official. Hello! Thank you very much for the answer. Best regards Per
The assayer (public servant) guarantees the legal silver fineness only, nothing else. He is quite correctly as AG2012 already stated, Aleksandr Ilitj Jaschinkov or Jaschinov ( Александръ Ильичъ Яшинковъ or Яшиноиъ ). He assayed in St. Petersburg 1795-1826. The maker BK (Latin) is Bernhard Johann Ko...
So an assayer is a person who inspects an object if it contains the right amount of silver? Can an assayer also be a silversmith, who is knowledgeable in the field and is hired as an assayer? Perhaps Alexander Yashinov was a good silversmith? Best regards
My explanation was very clear: A.я was the assayer (analysis master in your words) in Petersburg: Alexander Yashinov (Aлександер яшинов). He is NOT the maker. The silversmith was BK unknown to me. It is rather common spoon made in the first half of 19th century, and I see no reason for it being mor...
Hi, From left to right: Upside down: A.я Assayer in Petersburg: Alexander Yashinov ( A лександер я шинов). (From PL book, there were mistakes reported, not sure if in regard of this assayer.) Town mark for St. Petersburg 1818-1864. 84 Zolotnik silver standard for .875 silver fineness. See here: htt...
]Hello! I would be very grateful for help. I think 84 means it's silver. But what do the rest of the stamps mean? Could it be analysis master Alexander ilyich yashinov and the mark of St. Petersburg. Are the other letters for another silversmith? Best regards Per https://i.postimg.cc/9rs3100z/747-A7...
Hello! I would be very thankful for help. I have a fork made in Sheffield 1895 by Martin Hall and co. It has a symbol that I think means it was owned by a noble family. Maybe someone knows which family or relatives? Best regards Per https://i.postimg.cc/q6KLN852/BE81-E5-C5-B417-4-D62-BB4-A-49-C01-B...

Hey! Thank you so much for all your help. Maybe the antique dealer does not have full control? Interesting names you have come up with. I searched further. Today I contacted a person in Norway with good knowledge regarding silver objects. He says that the spoons are made in Oslo. And that it is mos...
Interesting statement the dealer made. How can he state that the punch O.S. has nothing to do with Oslo? Ask him that what is the source for this information? In addition, he was unable to say who it might be. My sources tell me that O.S. is a registered silversmith in Oslo as I already mentioned. ...

Interesting spoon. It doesn't actually look Norwegian but...? The fineness mark 830S might indicate Norway. Per mille was implemented in Norway in 1892. That means that your spoon cannot be older than that (If it is Norwegian). Anyway, since there is no town mark or other marks one can only assume....
