Re: Please help identify silver hallmark, maker's mark on flower vase

Yes is Italian and very typical as shape and details. there is the mark with the lozenge so you can locate between 1944 (no "fascio" symbol) and 1968 (1970). The id number and the province into the lozenge is not clear at all and sometime puctures are more confusing than what you can see b...

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark on Silver bowl

Hi AG2012, I come back on my steps, with big surprise from my side! If from one side I stay on the fact that basing on my experience the objects without lozenge are the minority and, for the major part, the manufacturing appears not from a modern production, on the other side, on the contrary of wha...

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark on Silver bowl

Hi AG2012, the fact that Buccellati "sometimes" forgot to mark the silver doesn't make a rule, and consequently saying that marking the silver was rather optional is really a big jump. Don't forget that Mario Buccellati firm started in 1919 so what strange in to have objects without the 15...

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark on Silver bowl

Hi Gerox, sincerely speaking from the finish I would say a piece from the fifties, but from the mark I can say before 1934, but not so much (too modern appearance). Regarding the provenance, the Lion mark suggests the Venetian area (Venezia, Padova, Treviso...). Regarding the manufacturer there is l...

Re: To big for a master salt?

the glass liner suggest that could be for something salted
the spoon, if really goes together the cup, could have the piercing to let some liquid fall
so to me looks like an appetizer cup...like for olives...

Re: Dishes, bowl with silver clove? mark

Hi, there are salt cellars, usually combined with a third piece of same type, only longer, for teethpics. I have a set of liberty style (art Nouveau) of the same silversmith marked 800 - clover - LCC, coming from my family and a sugar bowl again liberty style marked 900 - clover - LCC. The mark syst...

Re: Austro-Hungarian style candelabra-unknown mark

Thanks! very interesting!!!! Regarding Pasarel description, it is not correct. Marking it only with silver content after 1934 is out of the law. So if there are really Italian are dating before 1934. So up to now I have to stay... or unknown or Italian (1872-1934) I can survive :-) because I bought ...

I have seen personally this grade only on two different pieces from the same silversmith...never identified) Additionally I can...

Re: Italian Gold registration number

yes, 750 (into a lozenge) is 18k gold
white gold is used to not change diamond color
goldsmith number should be same as per silver (same number same manufacturer)...but not completely sure.
