Is one of my favourites silver (and not only) item.
Pretty rare.
Not ever easy to distinguish it from a big sugar cup with plate.
Easier if it is made in porcelain (very very rare).

A hint could be that the signature is M.Buccellati...
is not ever signed with M.

anyway not plated
the marks are the ones of solid silver because a silver sheet is used
the indication of R is applied because you cannot weight the silver without destroy the object

Hi,yes it should be 1900-1934 manufacture and north central - north east area
lion is used from some manufacturers in Lombard area and Emilia area too

correct observation amena, cartagloria has to stand on the feet and I apolgize. My comment "cartagloria are a repoussed silver sheet on a carved wood so the repousse work is deep and no with small details, becuse the silver has to cover the carved wood" is not correct; I was lead in error ...

I think it is not a "cartagloria" but simply a mirror...it resemble it a bit but very different for me...
Antique cartagloria are a repoussed silver sheet on a carved wood so the repousse work is deep and no with small details, becuse the silver has to cover the carved wood
