Unknown Rogers & Bro Casserole Spoon

I cannot find the pattern of this ornate 8-1/2" Rogers & Bro A1 casserole serving spoon -- any ideas? Thanks. https://i.postimg.cc/4xGVshfS/IMG-1210.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/bvNn2c20/IMG-1211.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/BvYKTYxr/IMG-1212.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/765Tm39f/IMG-1213.jpg https://i...

Coin Silver or not Coin Silver -- that is the question...

Is this coin silver? I have seen other Huntington coin silver, but the piece feels a bit too "springy". Also, would this 6" piece be a bon-bon spoon, or perhaps a sugar spoon? Many thanks. Dave https://i.postimg.cc/PqtqDgY6/IMG-0902.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/1zJ3rvKy/IMG-0903.jpg https...

Re: Unknown Mark & Pattern

Thank you -- I believe you are correct:

Oneida Community - Avalon 1901

I have never seen Oneida Community use that mark before.

Thanks again,
Dave

1847 Rogers Bros Linden Variation 1891 Oddity

This twisted handle master butter knife is in the 1847 Rogers Bros Linden Variation Pattern, 1891. It has a bit of an oddity in the maker's mark. I can see that it is marked 1847 Rogers Bros, but everything except for the Rogers has been stamped out. Did this have something to do with a company bein...

Unknown Mark & Pattern

This hollow handle fruit knife (6-1/2") has two script letter inside squares on the blade. I am terrible at identifying script letters from long ago. Any ideas as to maker and/or pattern? I have done the best I can on the photos. I believe it is silverplate as I cannot see any sterling mark. Th...

Re: Interesting Albert Pick and Blackstone Pieces

Thanks again so much for the information. I do come across railroad silverware on occasion, so the "R", or possibly double "R", did make me think that it might be railroad, but I had no idea what to make of the other shapes. I would have most likely never found what this was on m...

Interesting Albert Pick and Blackstone Pieces

I recently acquired two silverplate pieces, one of which (the Albert Pick) is hotel/restaurant-ware for the Francis Marion hotel in Charleston, SC. The other has a monogram that I have not yet determined -- the Blackstone Silver piece. Here's the interesting part, at least to me: The pattern of the ...

Re: Unknown COIN Pie Server/Knife - Gorham?

I believe I have found it:

Pacific pattern by Schulz & Fischer

I found a pie knife in the same pattern on eBay, but with a different design on the blade. I have seen 19th century pattern pie knives with different designs on the blades before -- variety I guess.

Thanks

Unknown COIN Pie Server/Knife - Gorham?

Hello, This 8-3/4" piece is stamped "COIN" on the reverse handle, with no other markings. I had a piece marked similarly a while back that turned out to be Gorham Josephine. That led me to believe this piece might be Gorham. It is very similar to the Gorham Pompeii pattern, but there ...

Unknown AF Towle & Sons Silverplate pattern -- bees, stars, half moons, gears

I cannot identify the pattern of this AF Towle & Sons 10" ladle. The shallow bowl makes me think it's an oyster ladle, but I'm not sure. The pattern is quite busy, with 2 bees at the top of the handle, stars, half moons, and gears(?). Help is greatly appreciated, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/S...

Re: Unmarked Coin Silver Master Salt Spoon?

Upon close inspection, it may be plated -- slight plate wear is showing on underside at the handle resting spot. I did, however, look it over completely again with a magnifying glass, as well as a microscope under 10x and 30x power, I did not find any maker's mark.

Unmarked Coin Silver Master Salt Spoon?

This 3-3/4" coin silver piece is unmarked and I'm not positive what it is. Any thoughts as to piece type and/or maker?

Thanks,
Dave

I have an unknown monogram on a teaspoon -- not sure if it's just an ordinary monogram or if it's from an organization or hotel/restaurant. Anyone recognize it? Coin silver small spoon

This small (5-3/8") coin silver spoon has a very worn maker's mark that I can't even describe. The bowl tip is very worn, so it was well-used. Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/vHynS4ZS/IMG-2721.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/k5L6N4Hs/IMG-2722.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/g2kZm1R...

Tifft & Whiting Coin Silver Dinner Knives

I have these two 8-1/8" coin silver handle Tifft & Whiting dinner knives and am curious as to the composition of the blades. I believe they are from about 1840, so could they be silver plate? They are definitely silver of some sort. Did they make blades of coin silver? I would think not, be...
