Patent 1855 COIN Marked Fish Fork 9"

This one has no maker's mark that I can see. It measures 9" in length and I think it's either a large Fish Serving Fork or Asparagus Fork. The only markings read "PATENT 1855 COIN" on the reverse. Thanks! http://tsfebay.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/132800427/IMG_0237.JPG http://tsfebay.pb...

Re: BB&S * Mark on piece

I'm afraid this is the best I have. I took many photos of the best of the four knives. All marks are very worn.

Thanks.

BB&S * Mark on piece

I have a set of 4 knives that I believe are silver plated (not sure). They have a hollow handle and plated blade, with scrollwork on the blade. The maker's mark is on the blade amongst the scrollwork, so a little tough to read. I believe it reads in script lettering: B B & unknown * That's a &qu...

Re: Korean Silver Spoon with "Silver / Silver" hangul mark

Thank you again :)

Is this solid silver? If so, can you tell the silver content?

Thanks!

Wallace Silver plate Korea Shell Footed Spoon 4.5"

I have a Wallace silver plate Korea footed shell spoon (4 1/2" not including the feet) and I'm not sure of pattern or piece type. The backside reads "(c) Wallace (R) Silver Plate Korea". It looks to me like this rests atop a small bowl because the feet do not reach to the bottom of th...

Re: Help with pattern - Simpson Hall Miller Sterling

I found it. I looked through 18 of 36 pages of all the International patterns on Replacements. They call the pattern "INS300".

Russian Solid Silver Fork? B*G 84

This piece seems very much to be solid silver. It has two tiny square hallmarks on the front at the top of the bowl. The first shows a "G", then the side view of what appears to be a person with arms extended, and then another "G". Could this stand for GABRIEL GAY? The piece has ...

Korean Silver Spoon with "Silver / Silver" hangul mark

I have a silver spoon that has the Korean mark shown as number 3 (Silver / Silver) in the 1910-1945 section on the following page: https://www.925-1000.com/Fkorea_01.html My question is to purity of the silver (percentage) for a solid silver (not plated) piece with that mark. I will attach photos, b...

I think this is German - Marked 12

I believe this spoon is German silver because it has a "12" stamped on the reverse, but I'm not sure. By the feel of it, it definitely feels like solid silver. The reverse is stamped with a mark that is partly missing, but ends in what looks like an "H", and is then stamped with ...

Help Identify 13 1/2 O. Johnsen [flower] Spoon

Please help identifying this 8 3/4" spoon (serving, soup?). It has the light feel of coin silver, and is marked "13 1/2" "O. JOHNSEN" and a flower symbol. Thanks! http://tsfebay.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/131224944/IMG_2680.JPG http://tsfebay.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/131224968...

Re: Korean 800 Silver Spoons?

Thank you for the link. I do see the hangul mark for silver. Does this mean solid silver? Would the purity be 800 (80%)?

Thanks.

Japanese Sterling?

The soup spoon has a mark that appears to be Japanese, but I'm not sure. It has the feel of coin silver -- thin and light weight. Not sure on this teaspoon

I'm pretty sure on this teaspoon, but not 100%. The hallmarks are a bit faded, but I think the marks are King George IV, S date code of 1833, Leopard head without crown, and Lion. If these are correct, that makes this sterling from London, 1833. I do not see a maker's mark and there is a curious &qu...

Re: Sheffield Sterling band on Knife J.A.S. maker

Thank you Phil!

The date chart I was looking at didn't go past 1916. That explains a lot.

Would the handle be Bakelite?

Thanks.

Sheffield Sterling band on Knife J.A.S. maker

I have a 9 1/2" knife with silver plate blade and sterling silver band. The hallmarks on the band -- "CROWN LION lower-case-smooth-a" date the sterling to 1824, Sheffield. I have a few questions on this piece: - Is the date of 1824 possible given the electro plated nickel silver blade...

Help with pattern - Simpson Hall Miller Sterling

Hello, I believe this is a Simpson Hall Miller piece -- the maker's mark is pretty faded, but I'm pretty sure it's the shield with "S" in the center. I cannot find the pattern anywhere. I tried Replacements, but it's not listed under the SHM patterns. I do know that SHM became part of Inte...
