Unusual Tomato Server FHW?

I have what I believe to be a 7-1/2" tomato server that seems to be coin silver, but is unmarked. The handle is very pliable, so much so that it seems the narrow part of the handle would barely support the weight of a slice of tomato. There are no maker's marks, except for the three large lette...

British Sterling?

I'm not sure if this small hollow handle knife is British sterling or not. It has hallmarks that seem to indicate that, but I'm not sure. The handle definitely seems to be sterling, but I'm not sure about the blade -- it does flex pretty easily. Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/zfBFM7js/IMG-6330.jp...

Unknown Wm Rogers & Son AA pattern

I have checked all my resources and I cannot find the pattern of this sugar spoon anywhere. It's similar to a Lyonnaise, so it's most likely from around 1880. I did find two forks in this pattern for sale on eBay -- the seller credits the design to "F. Waterhouse". Any help is greatly appr...

Re: Many EPNS A1 SHEFFIELD ENGLAND place settings

Is Sheffield the name of the maker, or where they are made (or both)?

Thanks.

Many EPNS A1 SHEFFIELD ENGLAND place settings

Hello, I recently acquired 6 different patterned place settings of silverplate simply marked "EPNS A1 SHEFFIELD ENGLAND". I cannot find anything about these pieces. Anyone have any information on these? Sorry for all the photos -- I wasn't sure if I should do a separate post on each patter...

Yes, I was afraid of that. Union could stand for countless organizations/businesses.

Thanks for the info.

Railroad knife?

I've had this knife for a couple of years now and have finally gotten around to investigating it. It's in the Reed & Barton Old London pattern, 1936 and it has just the word "Union" on the reverse of the handle. I know I have another piece (somewhere) in the same pattern with the same ...

Re: Erie Railroad Spoon?

Thank you so much -- that article was a great find. This spoon has to be from the Athletic Association.

Re: Erie Railroad Spoon?

You are correct, I didn't even notice them before. The one nearest the bowl is a number "7" inside of a diamond. The other end is much more difficult to see. The raised lettering is very worn. I'm not even sure it was legible when the spoon was new. It almost appears to be a reversed image...

Erie Railroad Spoon?

Greetings, This teaspoon is marked on the front "Erie R.R. A.A." I assume that means the Erie railroad, but I'm not sure what the "A.A." represents. The maker's mark is "ATLANTIC P&R SUP. CO. A 1/2". Any info on this spoon would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave ...

Re: Wallace Puritan - Pattern Variance

Thank you. Once again I have been educated on this site :)

Would the fact that it is a trade piece be why the underside has that added part on the underside tip of the handle?

Wallace Puritan - Pattern Variance

Hello, I have two sterling pieces from Wallace that I believe are in the Puritan pattern, but one of them has a slight difference. The salad fork pictured looks just like the Puritan piece should, but the small spoon (5-5/8", 5 o'clock?) has a small addition on the reverse side tip. Also, the m...

Thanks so much! Why would someone make such nice pieces and not put their mark on them?

Not sure what these sterling pieces are

These tiny bowls measure about 1-1/4" in diameter at the top. I received them together, but only one is marked sterling, along with a "3". They have some type of other metal or coating inside the bowls -- copper or gold colored. Any idea as to maker and/or piece type? Thanks, Dave htt...

Thank you -- I normally find the pattern first, but I thought for sure the tree was some sort of monogram.

Appeal to Heaven Tree backside monogram

I have this International Silver (Native American head) sterling silver baby fork (4-1/4") with what I believe is the Appeal to Heaven pine tree on the reverse of the handle. I would assume it's from some organization, Freemasons? Any ideas? Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/Qtg7tsmG/IMG-3666.j...
