ID Help - W.B. MFG. CO.

I have what I believe is a silverplate sugar spoon (no sterling mark) with the following maker's mark: W.B. MFG. CO. I have looked at patterns from Weidlich Brothers and Williams Brothers with no luck. Any ideas? Thanks. https://i.postimg.cc/NFv21vCS/IMG-0004.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cC7ghkVH/IMG-00...

Sterling Hallmarked Souvenir Spoon?

I was able to identify this small spoon (4-1/4") from the hallmarks as being made in Edinburgh, Scotland in either 1912 or 1913, depending on which letter code chart I use. The code is a capital "G" inside a shield. This site's chart shows it as 1913: https://www.925-1000.com/dlc_edin...

Coin Silver Spoon - JB

Hello, I have some 8-1/8" spoons that I am pretty sure are coin. They are marked on the front of the handle at the top with two marks -- "JB" inside a square and the profile of a person inside a flower shape. There appears to be a "3" and a "P" inside the flower sh...

Wallace Crumb Knife & Tray Set V161

Hello, I have a Wallace crumb knife and tray with a pattern number of V161. I'm not sure if it is part of a silverplate pattern. I have not been able to find it if it is. Any ideas where I might be able to find info on Wallace stamped pattern / item numbers? Thanks! Dave https://i.postimg.cc/QxFSsfC...

Re: Chicago World's Fair 1893 Souvenir Spoon - Sterling?

U.S. Sterling is the name of the manufacturer:

No doubt the company name was designed to deceive.

Re: Chicago World's Fair 1893 Souvenir Spoon - Sterling?

Hello, I have some solid silver items ranging from 800 (80% silver -- German) to 950 (95% silver -- French). I also possess Scandinavian silver -- 830 or 835. I am curious as to the silver content of this item, as it isn't marked. I have seen the testers you mentioned, but they are quite expensive a...

Chicago World's Fair 1893 Souvenir Spoon - Sterling?

I came across this 4-1/4" souvenir spoon from the Chicago World's Fair of 1893. It is marked "SOLID SILVER" on the reverse near the bowl. Would this be sterling? There is definitely silver in it. Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc/8cdXKR6W/IMG-9803.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/J4m2y2fQ/IMG...

Re: WB / W mark - Wallace?

Trev,
Thank you for the images. I have come across some of the plate on cast steel with this mark before (as shown in the advertisements) -- not anything I'd want to eat from. It was very worn and rough.

Regards,

Small pierced ladle - British late 1800s

Greetings! I have this small (5 inch) pierced ladle and I am wondering what its purpose was. It is British (William Page) from I am guessing the late 1800s -- based upon William Page's operating dates and the pattern style. Did this have something to do with tea? Any help is greatly appreciated. Dav...

Another Unknown Monogram - Hilton?

I've run a cross these before and always assumed they were Hilton, but after looking around online, I'm not so sure. It is marked INTERNATIONAL SILVER CO on the back of the handle. I've searched for every major "H" hotel chain I can think of. Any thoughts? Thanks, Dave https://i.postimg.cc...

Unknown Intl Silver Pattern - William Penn Hotel Piece

I can't find this pattern anywhere. I have checked Hagan, as well as a few online sites, but no luck. It is marked "WILLIAM PENN HOTEL" on the handle back, and has what I believe is the hotel's crest on the front. It is also marked "INTERNATIONAL SILVER CO IS SP" on the reverse. ...

Unknown Monogram on Oneida Hotel Plate JEFFERSON

I don't know if this is the correct category or not, but I have a silverplate serving spoon 8-1/4" in the Oneida Hotel Plate JEFFERSON pattern, patent date of 1913. The piece has a monogram on it of an oval with wings on each side. I could swear I've seen this logo before, but I just can't plac...
