Your spoon is German, the crescent and star being for the city of Schleswig, and the maker "CGS" being Carl Gottlieb Sager (1787-1849). He was the son of goldsmith Georg Heinrich Sager, also of Schleswig, and married (in 1816) Dulcine Henriette Helms, the daughter of of a goldsmith. Hope t...

Well, the shape of the maker's mark was changed in 1964, so it's no later than that, and even though the registry number is worn, Florence numbers 240-249 were all registered in 1952, so it's no earlier than that. So that narrows it down to twelve years: 1952-1964. Fratelli Peruzzi are upscale retai...

The conjoined "WF" and "3 stars" marks are those of the famous Belgian firm of Wolfers Frères. It's odd, though, I don't ever recall seeing Wolfers Frères marks with pseudo-marks, which I am fairly certain the lion and the ram(?) are. In any case, I thnk it dates from the first...

Bahner's right: Karl Schwitzgaebele, although my copy of Diebener's 1924 Yearbook (about the time the case was made, judging by her costume) has him in Pforzheim, not Stuttgart. Any idea if they when they moved, Bahner, or did they have two locations?

In my research into Hanau pseudo-marks, I have found this mark (which is actually a basket of flowers) in conjunction with the crowned "GR" shown in Silvermax's other thread. I have, therefore, comfortably attributed it to Georg Roth as well.

It is German, not Swedish. The mark on the left is a crowned "GR", universally attributed to the prolific Hanau, Germany firm of Georg Roth, founded in 1891. (The other two are false or "pseudo" marks.) I'd say it dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. Hope this helps!

The marks are too small to make out in your photo, but Finland 1903 sounds right; the "Ã…" being the city mark of Turku (from its old Swedish name: Ã…bo) and the maker "K.S." being Kustaa Severin Sahlstedt, active in Turku 1892-1923.

Hope this helps!

Berliner Goldschmiede by Wolfgang Scheffler. It's the standard work on Berlin gold- & silversmiths. I do not have a copy myself (it's out of print and monstrously expensive - usually $500 and up) but I keep a running list of things to look up in it and do so whenever I'm near a library that has...

Definitely Hamburg; the letter "D" in the mark is that of assayer Johan Jacob Probst, working 1853-1865. The maker "I.S.S." is Johan Wilhelm Siegmund Saatröber, born 1822, citizen 1856, still listed 1869.

Hope this helps!

The mark on the right is that of J. Kurz & Co. of Hanau, founded 1870 by Johann Sigismund Kurz; the other two marks are pseudo-marks. The company was still in business as late as 1961, but from the style, I would date the frame to the first quarter of the 20th century.

I believe the maker is Ole Lauritz Ødegaard of Arendal, Norway, working from 1865. The fineness appears to be 13-1/4 lot, or .828, a perfectly proper fineness for the period.

Hope this helps!

The animal is a bear and it was used in Switzerland between 1882 and 1934 to mark silver of .875 or higher. (Legal high standards were .875, .900, .925 and, as here, .935; also legal was .800 silver, but it was marked with a grouse). There should be a letter or other device infront of the bear's sto...

Based on your description, I think Portugal is correct; the II meaning second standard (.833) silver, and the "D" the mark for the Gondomar Assay office, 1886-1913. The other mark is probably the maker; there should also be a letter there; without a photo or illustration identifying it wou...
