Re: Please help identify silversmith on French perfume bottle

Thank you dognose The name written on the side is Tonnel Paris. I couldn't get a clear enough picture, but it is written on the side. I've included a picture from my research of the original shop on the rue de la paix. I've just finished cleaning the hallmarks to see better with a loupe. I wanted to...

Re: Please help identify silversmith on French perfume bottle

Thank you blakstone and anikopol. Unfortunately, my camera cannot get a clear enough picture. I looked closely with a loupe and do not find anything such as a symbol or letter other than the number 1 beside the Minerve head. But then again, I haven't polished the silver too much. The hallmarks are r...

Re: Please help identify silversmith on French perfume bottle

Thank you anikopol. The other hallmark is that of the head of Minerve, 1st standard for .950/1000 silver. The lid on this bottle is silver, not silverplate or other metal. I have not been able to identify the silversmith's mark. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/3/4/9/4/9/7/webimg/922503015_o.jpg htt...

Please help identify silversmith on French perfume bottle

I have a lovely perfume bottle with French silver hallmarks on the lid. I'm having difficulty identifying the silversmith. The silversmith initials are M.Y. with an anchor in between. I cannot find such a maker with these initials. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! http://img.auctiva...

Please Help ID Maker on This Tea Set

This tea set looks very much like the work of Georg Jensen, but I am thinking it is American made sterling silver. I'm lost as to who the maker is. The closest I have found is on the list of unidentified marks in the American Silver section ( http://www.925-1000.com/americansilver__Unk.html ). I am ...

Re: Please Help To Identify Silversmith On French Silver Cutlery

Thank you both for taking the time to aid in my search, I greatly appreciate your help and expertise. I searched for the ND mark, including searching this wonderful site, and discovered that there were only a couple of silversmith's with those exact initials. Nicolas Doubesky used a flambeau/torch a...

Please Help To Identify Silversmith On French Silver Cutlery

I have a set of French silver cutlery. I tried to identify the maker but I am having difficulty finding a silversmith with these initials and symbol. The maker's mark looks very similar to that of Guillaume DENINGER, Maison DENIÈRE, a spoon with a ribbon above a gear or wheel. But the initials are N...
