Re: Georgian Goblet

Hello. Thank you for your reply. I used a pin to try and chip away soft solder and dropped some acid on it twice. Turned a nice creamy color, and I didn't get any chips with the pin. The black you do see in the pics is just reflection. But I am no expert on this, so I polished it and took some new p...

Georgian Goblet

Hello All. I have a question regarding this Goblet. It's fully marked, date 1808 I believe, but no Maker's Mark anywhere. Is this very uncommon? In my research I didn't see one with hexagon base either. It's 6 3/8 inches high, and weighs 310 grams. I appreciate any thoughts about this. Thank You. ht...

Augsburg Ladle

Hello Again All. I've put some time into researching this one, but haven't gotten very far. The Acorn mark with the letter E, I believe, according to one website, may be 1741-1743. The other mark could be FW, but I'm not so sure about that either, as the first letter is fairly rubbed. And the third ...

Re: Tongs marked B & S.D

Second time I've been fooled by pseudo marks on American coin silver. I'll try not to let it happen again. Thanks Wev.

Any Info. on Spoon Marks

Hello All. This Spoon has some pretty rubbed marks I know, but I'd be content even with a date if possible. There is some of the maker's mark left, the first letter being T, I think. The date letter looks to me like a fancy lowercase n 8 3/4 inches long, and 67.7 grams. Any thoughts are appreciated....

Hello. I can't seem to match this makers mark. I believe it is BU. I see the Pest letter P next to the Diana's head. Spoon measures almost 9 inches long, and weighs 75.7 grams. Thank You for any information. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Large French Spoon

Hello All. I've been able to figure out, I believe, the Standard Mark 1798-1809, and the Guarantee Mark; but the Makers Mark eludes me, as does the F*L*M*C. I believe the 4 letters of the Makers Mark starting from the top and going clockwise are JRDC, or JBDC. Spoon measures 10 1/2 inches long, and ...

Hello Again All. I'm also having a bit of difficulty with this one. I'm not sure I'm even in the correct section. Besides the 3 clear marks, there is also a somewhat faded initials mark off to the right, which looks to me like ?R. The Spoon measures 8 1/4 inches and weighs 55 grams. Any assistance i...

Re: Large Tongs

Hello All. After doing some research, based on the form and the look of the marks compared to others I have seen, I think now perhaps these are American Coin silver tongs with pseudo marks. Any thoughts are appreciated.

2 Forks and a Spoon

Hello All. I'm having some difficulty with this mark. I believe it is the same mark on all three pieces, but I could be mistaken and the Spoon may be a different mark. If so, I will start a new post for the Spoon. I believe the date I see on all three is 1823. They are fairly large. The two Forks ar...
