Re: Spoon Marks

Thank You for your response. I tried better pics and again looking at it under magnification, it could be an L or I on the left side, and an A on the right, with the D on the bottom. Thanks again. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Hello All. The marks on this one are very far gone, but any info. is appreciated. I'm not sure it is french at all. It has the same crest as the other Fork I just posted, but I'm not sure it's the same maker. 7 5/8, 66 grams. Than you in advance. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.92...

3 Prong Fork

Hello All. I'm not sure that these are French marks, so please move if necessary. Same mark 4 times, is it a case of Duty Dodger? Looks like PC or PG. 7 3/4 inches long and 64 grams. Thank you in advance. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Marks Identification

Hello All. I've spent some time researching these marks and I think I have: Amsterdam 18th century; the axe mark, which is duty mark for old silver objects of National origin returned to the trade, but the rest I am unsure about. I can't figure out what is the date, and who is the maker. Thank you i...

Re: Altenburg?

Thank you both. The engraving is 1767, but I was told the spoon is earlier based on the style which was most common early 18th century, but perhaps was used longer in Germany. Thanks again.

Altenburg?

Hello All. Am I correct that this spoon is from Altenburg, the hand mark, and if so, is the B the maker's mark? As far as the style goes, would it be a fancy-back dognose style spoon? It was fairly bent where stem meets handle, but straightened out nice. Any information is appreciated, and thank you...

Hand Hammered Spoon

Hello All. I can't figure this mark out, don't even know where to start. Does anybody recognize the mark. It's long and thin, like an iced tea spoon, measuring 8 1/2 inches long. Thanks. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Hanau?

Hello All. This Fiddle and Thread pattern Serving Spoon has what I think are authentic French marks, based on the detail of the marks compared to those I have seen of Hanau, and the quality of the piece. The Paris Maison commune mark has an 87 under the crown. I also could not find a similar serving...

Hello All. This spoon has only 1 mark in an oval, besides the scratched in marks, and I can't find it in my research. It looks like CEB. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Hamburg 2 Marks

Thank you. I do believe it is a strong option. Could you tell me what the N or H stands for. Is it an Assayer's mark or Date letter. Love your site Theoderich. And this one of course. Thanks again.

Hamburg 2 Marks

Hello All. Could anyone help me with these marks. There are only 2 marks, but I can't make out the Maker's mark, and I'm not sure of the letter within the gate either, an H or N. Thanks. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg
