Re: Need help with Russian maker's mark under the Morozov company

Qrt.S - I just saw your firm statements (as always without naming any source from where your wisdom might come from) beeing coldly refuted by demonstrable evidence in the thread "Bergen maker´s mark 1891". That must be what you mention as ".....can turn out in a disaster." Back t...

Re: Need help with Russian maker's mark under the Morozov company

Qrt.S - you should accustom to underpin your findings with the anouncement of your primary source(s) - otherwise it is just your personal opinion . As you like endless discussions, here we go and start from the beginning: The OP asked who the maker JA on a Morozov spoon could be. Ubaranda found it i...

Hello

@ Elsebe - facts always win over drivel! Thanks for the phantastc investigation!

@ Hose - thanks for explaining the "different marking habits" - without real existing objects in your hand the books are worthless.

Again Morozov and his workmasters

Hello all- in a Samorodog cigarette case I find the Morozov mark and an additional И.A. mark. Is it the short form of one of his workmasters A.I.Senpenen? Or is it someone else? Who is it? http://www2.pic-upload.de/thumb/29518069/P1080185.jpg http://www2.pic-upload.de/thumb/29518083/MorozovI.E.01a.j...

Re: Need help with Russian maker's mark under the Morozov company

Ubaranda is right - here the proof: Morozov was one of the few who allowed the masters (inhouse or extern) to sign their products. Many examples are known. Here a cakeserver with the initials J.A made by Allenius, sold by the firm of Morozov. Unfortunately a bit overpolished - but clearly visible. h...

Re: Need help with Russian maker's mark

I am with AG2012 - the St. George is wrong for the year 1844 (and too sketchy) and it looks as if the thumbpiece was added later to make the box look more Russian than European.

Re: Antique spoons - part 2 - Authentic or not?

Hi-
I am with Dad. I "see" the assayer Konstantinov, Ivan 1874-1882 and the maker Ivanov, Fedor 1843-1882. Very often seen spoons from him on the market.

Hi-

According to the style and the assayers date, I tend to: Sokolowa, Maria Ivanovna 1886-1908
Many spoons of her are known.

Is this the crippled assay mark PL # 2016 (1873-1877)?
Stand the BC mark for Viktor Savinsky (1859-1894) or is it from the spoon maker BC Semenov Wasilij?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Authentic or fake Faberge? Cigarette Case

How can you tell the real thing from the fakes? Well, this can be either very simple or very complicated. A lot depends upon how good the fake is. Almost everyone has heard of the fabled "Fabergé Eggs"….fantastic gifts given at Easter time by the Czar to his wife and mother. What many peop...

@ Qrt.S: I can only hope that you have the permission to answer in the name of Ms. Tillander-Godenhielm and reveal her firm statement about this cigarette case and the marks! She must know better - I am sure. @Dad: Thank you for your knowing and correct answers. People who looked long enough into th...

agphile Thanks for enlighten me! Enlish is not my first language - so it escaped me total that the used words could be ambiguous. I think I have now cleared it up what I really wanted to say. It is always difficult to not only write in an other language - you have to think in this language too - tha...
