Opinions on maker of this spoon

Hi, I have this 1746 spoon with a makers mark that is either mis-struck or the punch was worn. I am thinking possibly Edward Bennett but would welcome any thoughts from other members. Many Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/SAM_3940_zpspdsoszca.jpg [/URL] http://img.photo...

Is this a Spanish mark?

Hi, I have this snuff box which just has one mark stamped to it, does anybody recognise it? To me the box has a Spanish look about it but I may be completely wrong. Unknown sauce ladle marks

Hi, I am stumped with these marks on a celtic point sauce ladle. I am thinking possibly Scottish provincial, maybe Elgin, does anybody have any ideas? Many Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/SAM_3884_zpscjik6d2w.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/SAM_388...

Re: 1960s Baptismal Cup

I believe this type of cup for holding communion wine, is known as a ciborium.

Re: Very small porringer (?) London 1706. Worn maker's mark

Hi Thomas,

A couple of possibilities - Daniel Sleamaker or William Fleming. My guess would be Sleamaker but would be interesting to see what others think.

Candelabra mark

Hi, This is a sconce from a candelabra which I think may be of German origin. All the component pieces are stamped with the 13 loth mark and also the mark shown in the image below, which I assume is a makers mark. Can anybody help with identifying this mark? Many thanks Martin http://img.photobucket...

Celtic point spoon marks

Hi, This is a celtic point teaspoon with IM struck 3 times, twice overstriking the same mark. I am thinking possibly Scottish or Irish provincial but would welcome the opinions of other members. Thanks, Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/sp2%202_zpsyody7gef.jpg http://img.photob...

Re: Unknown marks on spoon.

Hi Trev,

That's an interesting observation, I definitely think you might be on to something there. Thanks for the welcome, I am however a longtime member of the forum but I have managed to lock myself out of my usual username and have had to re-register.

Many Thanks

Re: Unknown marks on spoon.

Thanks for the reply.

The spoon tests as silver and was bought in a job lot of other sterling flatware at a UK auction. I still have a feeling I have seen the marks before, possibly on this site, but I am struggling to track them down.
