Thanks very much for the information guys, there are no further marks on the jug, if the handle was originally marked it has completely worn away and left no evidence.
Hi This marrow scoop is stamped four times with the mark of Thomas & William Chawner, I know that silver marked with the makers mark only is not uncommon and the possible reasons for this have been discussed on here before. What I find a bit unusual on this piece is that the final mark is a diff...
Hi This table spoon has some partly worn hallmarks, the date letter is possibly 1769, but is there enough left of the makers mark for anyone to make an attribution? Hi This table spoon has some quite worn marks, but I was wondering if there is enough detail left for anybody to speculate on a date and a maker. Hi This table spoon which unfortunately has a rubbed date mark, has a makers mark of what looks like JB. I can't seem to find an appropriate candidate, can anybody suggest who the maker may be? Thanks Trev, have you any indication on the maker? I know Turner attributes an Aberdeen and an Elgin mark to Rettie & Son, I wonder if the same maker had a Dundee mark.
Hi I have this teaspoon that I originally thought was an example from Scottish maker Rettie & Son, but I have been unable to track down these particular marks. Has anybody got any ideas on the spoon's origin? Many Thanks Martin https://i.postimg.cc/HkcmQr6Q/SAM-6628.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Fz8W...
Hi I am looking for some help in trying to identify the marks on this dog nose spoon. I have posted here but am not 100% certain of it being provincial, any thoughts would be most welcome. Many Thanks Martin https://i.postimg.cc/85G0nR4B/SAM-6611-3.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/q7yFLbsv/SAM-6616-2.jpg
