Where's the Baldwin proof?

Historical sources continually report that Philadelphia locomotive builder extraordinaire Matthias W. Baldwin held an apprenticeship, was trained and employed as a jeweler, and even acted independently for some years as a silversmith during the Coin Standards era. One source indicates he was commiss...

Re: Lawrence Family Birmingham early half 19th Century

Note that a Thomas Lawrence is only mentioned as one of the four surviving sons in the will, but he is not in the list of children which includes another son who reportedly died at fourteen years. So where does this Thomas enter the family tree?

Lawrence Family Birmingham early half 19th Century

In the Research Notes section, some references to Birmingham silversmith John Lawrence (died 1854), son of Thomas and father of John plus brothers: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Oral_history_of_John_H_Lawrence_and_Sarah_Evans How might this relate (or not) to John Lawrence (Guardian 1824-) and...

Re: [TL] {Lion} (George IV) [Gothic D] [Anchor]-->1827?

The date letter does look like it could be that contorted "O" for 1837, but then the Monarch would be all wrong. And this head is very close to another in Chinese Export that is dated circa 1830 (in a set of psuedo Birminghams).

[TL] {Lion} (George IV) [Gothic D] [Anchor]-->1827?

Thought it was going to be celluloid, but maybe authentic carved ivory. No smith match for "TL" this late? TIA https://i.postimg.cc/c4DSCnCK/image.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/BnXGKnPm/image.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/1321c1ps/image.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/NMr8nVC6/image.jpg https://i.postimg.c...

Graham Manufacturing Company

Known to have at least three patterns, this is not one of them. At least one is shared with Holmes & Tuttle (et al) which raised the possibility of Bristol Brass....so I went ahead and cleaned the remnants of gold spots to see if it was base metal under the plate or gilt above...conclusion is li...

Sorry, I missed that whole "Sterling" part. Are you certain that lower left partial stamp reads STERLING and not STEEL?

Re: Help Hallmarks Folding Fork/Knife Sterling

Probably British with "A" as a grade, "S" for Sheffield location, and a maker in gothic letters...looks like TT followed by (?) L. Not quite clear about that last letter...and L could possibly be shorthand for Ltd. (Limited).

Re: 800 cup

Double clicking image at host site seems to reveal a single large letter stamp for maker. Can you confirm this or enlarge the detail with a magnifier/loupe? If it is an encircled-emboldened "N", then perhaps the Hanau firm Gebruder G. on this page: https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_ma...
