Never heard of 800 silver plated before? 800 usually stands for 80% silver and are common in European countries. Silver plating is 100% silver plated on a base metal.

Christofle plated fork without full marks

Good evening I have this fork ( and a spoon somewhere) with the date letter for 1861 used on Christofle silver plated cutlery. It is only mark 61 and 4. It is in their "Filet" (or "Chinon") pattern. Why would and other marks be missing? Groete Jannie https://i.postimg.cc/PPBRXPjz...

Good day A cigarette tin in my collection from 1912/13 by Henry Matthews of Birmingham. It was given to Captain F.D. Berry from the Medical Staff at N.L Camp Jacob's. Not much more info available. https://i.postimg.cc/sBrxJX2G/20210227-140111.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/hJ1jZBJy/20210227-140153.jpg

Re: 13 Loth Snuff box

The Normann family extended their coat of arms next to the count's arms with the coat of arms of the extinct Ehrenfelser family, in blue three oblique left bars next to each other, the two outer ones red, the middle gold. The description fits perfectly the hatching of right arms on the box. (I thou...

Re: 13 Loth Snuff box

So I did some more digging. This box could have belong to Philipp Christian von Normann-Ehrenfels. He was made a count in 1806.
He died in 1817...can this box be that old?

More info about him:

For the maker AW let's wait for Theoderich.

Thank you, yes it should be count. I wonder if there would be any records of German/Austrain counts somewhere?
