Trimetal Holder with Dragons

Good evening Got this a while back and never really looked into its history. Is it Chinese or Tibetan? I think it is copper and a white metal (could be silver?). It is 15cm high and got agate stones inset into a nickle silver type metal. Any help is welcome Jannie https://i.postimg.cc/tJJj5PQW/20210...

Re: Russian Spoon

Hello JanGroen, Blomberg and St Petersburg!? Mind my asking but wherefrom did you get that? Yegor Blomberg assayed in Tiflis 1841-1886, never in St Petersburg, The assayer is Eduard Brandenburg in Riga 1850-51. Haven't found the maker yet.... It looked very similar to the mark of Blomberg used on t...

Lawrence Twentyman spoon

Good evening I have 2 identical teaspoons by the Cape Silversmith, Lawrence Twentyman. Is there any information on what period he used this set of Pseudo hallmarks. My brother-in-law owns and live on the farm once owned by Lawrence Twentyman here in South Africa. Farm is called Avontuur and is near ...

Good day Family of mine got a selection of mostly late 18th century British sterling. I found this in between them. Any information is welcome. They still use it to serve food and it has been in the family for at least 40 years. Jannie https://i.postimg.cc/B8yxYQg7/20210413-124251.jpg https://i.post...

Re: Persian cup

Hi, Lassi cups are fairly common (Punjab), more often with floral décor (non Islamic), but also with Arabic inscriptions (Islamic region of Indian subcontinent before Pakistan independence and separation in 1947, so Indian historically). Depicted here is my Ottoman cup, similar but not identical. I...

Re: Persian cup

Mine, posted below, is an Indian brass drinking cup/glass, was told it likely dates from the early to mid 20th century, they're typically used for the yoghurt-based 'lassi', as well as water (makes a good pen cup since it's so sturdy). Similar pieces are fairly common... ~Cheryl https://i.postimg.c...

Re: Persian cup

Having in mind the provenance, I thought it was from Ottoman empire. But, modern Turks were unable to read Arab...
