Silver plated silver Persian salt cellars

Good day I found these on the market today. I first thought they were cheap plated Indian brass as the plating was bubbling and showing green. I found it too ugly and started sanding it off with fine sandpaper. I thought I would find brass but instead it had silver beneath the plating. Is it common ...

Solid Owl Figurine

Good evening I have this sold silver owl figurine with the Zimbabwe Sable mark aswel as 958 stamped on it. It is 45 x 20mm and weigh 78g. Could this be an old model by Patrick Mavros? It does seems like his type of work. Not sure if other companies in Zimbabwe make these type of figurines. Groete Ja...

Thanks, I did think it could be by them but not sure why the mark is so messy.

Red enameled plated

Good day I found this red enameled plate today on a flea marked. It has a chip in the enamel but I still got it. It is marked 925S but can't make out the rest. The mark seems to be striked 4 times over each other. It is 14cm in diameter. I think it may be from Norway. Groete Jannie https://i.postimg...

St. Moritz plated bowl by Christofle

Good day This is one of my latest finds and I would like to know more about the marks and age. It has the Christofle Scale mark, 12 and CHRISTOFLE marks on it. It also made a mark that resembles a bee with METAL BLANC next to it. Am I correct if I think it is from St. MORITZ Hotel in Kulm? Kind rega...

Good evening
I have been thinking of this piece again. Would this be a modern or antique piece? I see similar things were made in Mongolia in the past.

Good day One of my medals in my collection. This one was designed by A.J. HENOCHSBERG & Co. in Johannesburg. This designer also had a office in Basing House, 17 & 18, Basing-hall Street, London. It was won in the S.A TEAM RACE CHAMPIONSHIP 1909/1910, WON BY TRANSVAAL, R.J.RALPH. Although it ...

Green stone teaspoon

Good evening
I have this teaspoon with a green stone set into the handle. The stem is a nice bamboo pattern. Any idea of age and maker?

I know that Walker & Hall used date letters on their silver plate. Wonder if there are records of W&D doing it? Will need to find some more examples of their work.

Re: Date mark on large plated tray

That form of the date letter for Sheffield silver is 1930/31. It is possible that W&D followed the assay office's date letters on their electroplate. Phil If the site is correct, they were not around by then anymore. I really love the pattern( and the lovely monogram) and wonder if one can find...

Re: Date mark on large plated tray

Good evening

Still no information on the 'n' mark on this silver plated tray? It really does look like a date letter of some kind.

Date mark on large plated tray

Good evening I got this plated tray a while back as I loved the monogram on it. I am not certain about the maker. What do puzzle me is that it seems to have a dat letter (n) on it aswell. Any help with age and maker of the dray will be welcome. https://i.postimg.cc/MHbRms6v/20210502-211013.jpg https...
