Re: Arabic Writing on small silver cup

Good evening
What grade of silver would this most likely be? 900?
I like the piece, but is it something that was mass produced?

Re: Ornate spoon

Good day I finally got the salt spoon. It does seem to be plated. Some parts of the bass metals are yellowish and other a copper pink. The spoon are marked with 84 on back of bowl and *84* on the stem. Think it is Japanese Groete Jannie https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com...

Ornate spoon

Good day I have bought this mustard/sugar spoon online. It was sold as Russian silver, but I am not certain. It is 8.3cm long and weighs 3.9 grams. The bowl of spoon resembles a poppy or cherry flower. It seems to have a mark that resembles St Petersburg followed by 2 other marks, but it could also ...

Re: Old Plated Christofle Spoon

Hi Jannie, Does your oval mark contain any numerals? Trev. The mark is too worn down. The spoon is made out of brass and the website mention that pre 1859 they used brass. After that they used another alloy lighter in colour. The date letters from 1844 till 1859 were lozenges after that it was squa...

Re: Old Plated Christofle Spoon

Hi Jannie, The numerals in the lozenge would indicate the thickness of the plating. See: http://www.925-1000.com/a_christofle.html Trev. Good evening I read on another site that they are date letters starting fro 1844. The plating thickness are written in the mark in oval with the scales. Here is t...

Could it be correct that mark in the diamond be the date for 1847? Did not know silver-plating existed that far back.

Good evening This is my saddest piece of silver in my collection. It is (was) a 28cm Christofle plated spoon that clearly had a full live. I am trying to find out a little more about it. Plated Mustard Pot

Good evening I am looking for more information about this mustard pot. What period and stile could it be? It seems to be EPNS as the underlying metal is yellowish white. I could only found one mark in the lid, a X or K. It has lead in the bottom, will this be normal to make it heavy or would it be a...
