Re: unknown maker 05

Resorting to insults when you loose is very childish. About the phone write a complaint to apple, not too happy myself.

Re: unknown maker 05

Come on really,You are not an expert in everything, I am not crazy about ducats, but the 1730 is a fake ducat, don't push it when you don't know.At least in Professional Numismatic Catalogs

Re: unknown maker 04

You seem to have a lot of coins today lol. Anyways can't help with the case again, here you have a nice authentic 5 roubles, at least telling from a small picture, pity it was mounted though, even if it looks nice.

Re: unknown maker 05

I dont know about the case but can tell you these "medals" or whatever they are are either made by the jeweler during the manufacture or modern additions, definitely does not date to 1730 the strike is too primitive and definitely not government issue. Any ideas on the gold content?

Re: Unknown Maker

Your photos of the kokoshnik are not very clear( I'll be more polite)
Is it the first time you take your own, instead of using professional auction photos from the Internet?

Re: Russian ashtrays

I'll give you that, but this takes us back to the discussion whether the name had anything to do with the coin, or was just a random combination of 2 and 3 letters from names .But in order not to go crazy and join Zolotnik, lets just leave it a this

Re: Russian ashtrays

I Will rephrase- I fully accept the official version a 100 percent. What I said that both can coexist. Today if there is a company named dollar, would you believe the sole reson was that the name of the founders were Dollores and Arnold, with no refence to the dollar whatsoever. The gold Ducat was t...

Re: Russian ashtrays

Besides dear Dad, I don't think your version contridicts mine. I doubt mr. Duvan and Katik decides to create a previously unknown word by combining their names in this way, without wanting to make a reference to a world famous gold Ducat

Re: Russian ashtrays

Nice history, probably you are right, however the cigar box is definitely after the revolution it is not just about ъ in дукатъ , в Москве would also be written with a different e in the end, штукъ etc... Besides it actually says government factory in the bottom left corner, which surely means after...

Re: Russian ashtrays

Well fist of all the spelling is Дука‚ not Dukat if you want to be picky. I assume Дука‚ is a reference to a gold Ducat coin who is Spelled Ducat in English, which is the language of this forum. The fait that дука‚ is a refference for a coin is corraborated n'y d'or which is golden
