Re: Los Castillo Taxco inlaid tray need help identifying

Hi Anna. Welcome to the forum. If it were solid silver it would be marked with .980, .925, sterling or have an eagle mark. Los Castillo worked with metals other than silver: mixed metals, copper, brass, silverplate, etc. Here's a scan from Billy Hougart's book. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n80...

Re: ID Danish maker initials JH or HJ, Hardrup?

You're welcome.

I don't have much information on the firm of Hans Jensen.
Believe they were in Aarhus, Denmark for most of the 20th century.
You're mark looks like late 20th century to me.

Re: I need help in dating this Roberts & Belk spoon

You're welcome David.

I don't know how long Roberts & Belk used the oval mark.
Seldom see it, so I think it's very early.

Re: I need help in dating this Roberts & Belk spoon

Hello. I believe you have an early set of Roberts & Belk silverplate marks. On June 30, 1863 the partnership of Roberts & Briggs was dissolved. By February 1864 Samuel Roberts had entered into a partnership with Charles Belk. Became "Ltd." in 1901. Sold to C.J. Vander in 1961. http...

Hello.

Victor Boivin succeeded his father, Jules, in 1881.
Firm regestered another mark in 1897 for Boivin Fils.

Re: Three Saulgau Twist Handle Demitasse Spoons

You're welcome.

Simon Groth was the assayer from 1863 to 1904.
The middle mark would be the maker's mark.
