Rainwaters 4th edition attributes your mark to John L. Westervelt of Newburgh, New York. In 1854 he opened his silver manufacturing business and continued to manufacture silverware until his retirement in 1904. He did have a retail business also.

I believe your moon and star mark was used by the Manhattan Silver Plate Company located in Lyons, New York. They were incorporated in 1877 as the successor to the Manhattan Plating Company. They became part of the International Silver Company in 1898. This mark was not used after 1904.

This mark was used by John Cook, New York, N.Y. from 1868 to about 1880. Info found in Rainwater's 4th edition.

Hello. This is my first time here. Great forum.
Your mark was used by Barstow & Williams, Providence, Rhode Island. 1888 to around 1904 when the name became N. Barstow & Co. Found info in Rainwater's 4th edition.
