Re: Japanese Silver Makers Mark?

The characters on top are 純銀 - pure silver (but it could be sterling silver, or higher)

銀 - silver
純 - pure

The lower group is likely the maker.

Please upload pics of the item. Makes it much more interesting for viewers.

Re: Japanese silver flask translation

And now I've been told (by someone on another forum) what the characters say:

" 伊勢丹謹製 - Isetan Kinsei - Carefully Made by Isetan

Isetan is one of the most prestigious department stores in Japan."

Re: Japanese silver flask translation

Okay, I've found out that the lower character is "made." So it's "silver made," or "made of silver."

I'd still like to know the bottom line of the middle image. Likely the maker?

Japanese silver flask translation

Looks like silver, and it says "SILVER" on the bottom. What does it say below that, in the Japanese characters? thanks https://i.imgur.com/hfwlMob.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OrbwRhp.jpg Also, on the original box are these characters. I know the top one is jungin (silver) but what is the lower...

Re: Indian Sterling Silver Tea Service with Village Scenes

Nice!

I'd like to know how those pieces were stored, since there doesn't seem to be any tarnish at all. Like brand new (but obviously not).

Re: Chinese solid? silver ring

The lowermost double character in your photos appears to be the "jungin" mark 銀 which means silver.
I'm not sure whether your ring is Chinese or Japanese.

mystery can: tin jewel precious stones yogi box

Sorry, this looks like silver, but does not test as silver. Its origin is a complete mystery to me. Age unknown. 3.75" tall. No markings. Naked faux yogis, some with man chests, some with woman chests. Semi-precious stones (which look quite nice, considering the box is not real silver.) Any ide...

足銀 is pure silver, or full silver. Japanese or maybe Chinese piece.

Possibly Chinese maker in a Southeast Asian country.
Need to see more pics, and the marks on the other two items.

Re: Maker of this old Japan pure silver bowl?

Thank you very much for that. In this case I think I will believe the "999-1000 fineness" part. Even though it is thick-walled, this has got to be the softest, most malleable piece of silver I have. The misshapen rim was easily pushed and squeezed back into round using only thumbs and fing...

Maker of this old Japan pure silver bowl?

Old and beat up, but still "pure silver," with the jungin mark. Does the archaic kanji (or "seal script" ?) below the jungin refer to a maker? If so, who? Any ideas regarding age? I have read on this forum that this style jungin mark was rarely (if ever?) used in China before 194...

Re: Thailand A 925 pendant charm please help with ANY info

Modern (1960 - now) Thai sterling. The maker's mark "A" doesn't tell us much. I haven't seen it before, but it could have been well-known at one time.

Re: mark identification

The top word is piset - พิเศษ - meaning "special." Underneath is the initial for "weight," น., 15, and the initial for baht-weight, บ. The Thai baht is the country's unit of money, but in the past "baht" was also used as a unit of weight for approximately 15 grams, or h...

PS - The flower in front of the crown, appears to be a tulip.

Whose hallmark? Elongated "B" with crown/flower

Hammered tumbler, perhaps Arts & Craft era. Hallmark image appears similar to a crown, but with a flower on top. Elongated "B" underneath. Followed by STERLING SILVER Any ideas? https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Shot glass: Who is this Japanese silver maker?

Can anyone identify this Japanese maker/seller using an "S" in a star? Also, it looks like the characters at the bottom might refer to the maker? Any ideas? (The second row is "pure silver.") Thanks! https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg `

It's upside down.
If right side up, the final 2 (of the 8) characters are for "silver" -
