Solid/Plated, what country?

A dear friend asked me to inquire about those marks. I don't know if the item is solid or plated, nor where it comes from. Any idea?

Re: Import mark?

Silver is such a great topic! I would have never guessed Czechoslovakia. Now I know quite a bit more about the history of that piece. Thank you!

Import mark?

I bought an Austrian shaker from a dealer in Argentina. It's marked "Vienna, 1826, Stephan Mayerhofer". And then there is the tiniest additional hallmark. Some sort of insect. Any idea what that is? https://i.imgur.com/lTx0s3k.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TjJPjsf.jpg

spoon, 18. cent

A dear friend requests help with those hallmarks. Any clue is highly appreciated. 1.) Head with worn numbers, maybe 61? 2.) rooster + "2": 800/1000 3.) makers mark: K (?) + heart 4.) eagle's head: small articles, till 1798 https://i.imgur.com/gTgiEBT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/DmZHlUV.jpg htt...

Re: Regensburg "H": Maker "IGC/K"

I am delighted you were able to identify the maker. Thank you!

I did not know those heart-shaped contours were used that long. Learning never stops.

Regensburg "H": Maker "IGC/K"

Today I found those two colossal buttons. I suppose they are from Regensburg. There is a letter above the crossed keys, most likely an "H". When was this "H" used? Who is "IGC/K"? https://i.imgur.com/3jUU0Md.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ClQsHx0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/oXQs5E...

Mainz/Osnabrück: "Martin"(?)

A dear friend asked me to enquire about those marks. There are 1.) "wheel" + "13", within a shield 2.) the wheel 3.) an additional "13", struck above one wheel 4.) a fuzzy makers mark, most likely "MARTIN" Any information is highly appreciated. https://i.imgur...

Re: [Austria] Vienna or Linz: Date? Maker?

Depending on the viewing angle it is either clearly 1742 or as clearly LINZ. There are three similar (later + quite worn) marks in Neuwirth, Wiener Silber 1781-1866, p 112. Sadly she only writes a few lines about them, calling them "Schwertfeger-Punzen". They also consist of the "13&q...

Re: [Austria] Vienna or Linz: Date? Maker?

Looking at it again Vienna 1742 seems more likely. Does the first volume of Neuwirth contain Schwertfeger (hilt maker's marks)?

[Austria] Vienna or Linz: Date? Maker?

First I thought it might be a Schwertfeger-Hallmark from 17?2, but looking at it closer reads like "LINZ". Was there such a hallmark used in Linz in the 18. century? If so - is there a way to date the piece? The small "crescent moon + G"-hallmark is for Linz, 1806/7. The maker's ...

Early Nuremberg?

This shaky image is all I've got.

Is it possible to narrow down the origin/date/maker?
