Re: Multiple items signed A.K

Yeah all these items had been purchased from late 2013 and through until late 2014.
I knew since joining this site that they were going to be fake so have learnt a very expensive lesson to study first and ask questions before believing what people tell you.

Thankyou for reply :)

Re: 2 Kovsh's Ovchinnikov (my last hope of real)

Thankyou for the reply. Oh well, there goes my collecting of Russian silver. I had pretty much stopped anyway but I think out of all 50+ pieces I had collected, not 1 is real. They should make it a criminal act for big auction houses around the world to sell all these items when they clearly are fak...

2 Kovsh's Ovchinnikov (my last hope of real)

Forgive me if I wrote anything I am not allowed. I checked to see what we are not allowed to write and made no mention of prices. I'm not sure if was allowed to name the valuation company though sorry. I have here 2 kovsh's both from Mikhail Ovchinnikov. The first one I am showing has a valuation ce...

Multiple items signed A.K

I really didn't want to put these items on here to show so could avoid the embarrassment but it seems everything I have ever bought is more than likely fake so it can't really get much worse lol. I will add a picture or 2 of each item and then the hallmark/makers mark straight under each picture. Kn...

Re: 3 outstanding enemal spoons

Wow those are spectacular. So much work must have gone in to those. I am familiar with Maria Semenova but haven't seen the other maker before.

Alexander Fuld? or not genuine?

I haven't seen any other Russian silver enamel items like this that has what looks like viking ships on it so was wondering could this be real and is it the maker Alexander Fuld? I have searched lots of Alexander Fuld's items and have only seen just silver items and no enamel. The only other maker I...

Re: Russian mark

here is one of the spoons I have but after reading comments I realise this is not a good example and more than likely a super fake because the makers mark is upside down to the assayers mark and isn't exactly readable 100%. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Re: Russian mark

Not sure how to edit my post but was going to say after I said it looked similar to one of my spoons from him...I have seen other spoons of his also and a lot of them usually have the turquoise colour which supposably he was known for a lot. I am certainly no expert but that's the best I could come ...

Re: Russian mark

Looks like Gustav Klingert to me. He worked from 1865-1916 I think mainly in Moscow.
The spoon looks very similar work to the one I have by Gustav. He has a couple of different makers stamps I have seen like GK or KLINGERT.

Re: Dimitry Alexandrov? Kokoshnik mark confusing

Thankyou very much for the fast replies/information. I wish I had joined this forum when I first started collecting. Would have made life a whole lot easier :) The item description when I bought these said they had authenticated the marks from the Geoffrey Watts Russian Silversmiths Hallmarks book a...

Dimitry Alexandrov? Kokoshnik mark confusing

Hello again, I was told these spoons are made by Dimitry Alexandrov between 1844-1886 but am having trouble finding that kokoshnik mark. There is one similar I saw on the normal kokoshnik marks online encyclopedia which says is an import mark but it's slightly different. The second initial looks mor...

Re: Unknown russian spoon makers mark. Maybe fake?

Thankyou for replies. I know I made heaps of mistakes buying stuff but just got carried away going on multiple auction sites and couldn't help but bid while the auction was going live. I have studied heaps since then so have a fair idea what to look for now but was hoping 1 in a million that I got l...

Unknown russian spoon makers mark. Maybe fake?

Hello, I purchased this set of spoons and have looked through all the books and makers mark websites and cannot find who this (BA) maker is. The kokoshnik mark says is from St. Petersburg 1908 onwards but every maker with the initials BA never worked in St. Petersburg. They all are just Moscow, Kost...

What is this item used for?

Hello, I recently bought this Russian agate pen stand and don't know what the other item is called. It is silver up top and orange agate down the bottom. I have tried looking for anything similar looking on the internet but have not found anything. It has no makers marks on it and is circular all th...
