Re: Identify maker "OSCH" on Czech deco candlesticks

Thank you. I couldn’t quite understand whether it was suggesting the mark on my candlestick is an export, not import, mark?

Identify maker "OSCH" on Czech deco candlesticks

I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the maker of these large silver candlesticks. The design is strikingly art deco, albeit with hammering effect more familiar to the arts and crafts period. They are assayed for Czech 1929-41. 800 silver standard. The question is who is the mark...

Thank you very much. It’s only an A, when the assay mark is the wrong way up! So you are right, thank you. Pest it is.

Makers mark identification on claret jug

Hi, I was hoping that someone could identify the marks on this claret jug (in fact one of a pair). It's a pretty remarkable piece with a crane handle killing two entwined snakes. These are all cast. There are three marks to identify. The tiny central mark looks like the assay mark and appears to be ...

Three fishes coat of arms on 1903 spoon?

Hi, Does anyone recognise this crest or coat of arms. It is from an art nouveau William Hutton and Sons spoon marked for London 1903, making it all the more unusual. It is very close to the Kingston upon Thames coat of arms, except that has a K not an A on the shield. Thank you https://www.925-1000....

Thank you so much. I thought it might be her but have never seen her silver or mark. More on her below. She was quite well known in her day and well exhibited. Amoore, Beth [1863-1944. UK. Unknown BA arts crafts London mark?

Hi, I have just bought these tea spoons. Very arts and crafts in the style of Artificers Guild. Does anyone recognise the BA makers mark? I can only find this mark for Chester and B Ainsworth but am sure that is not it. Thank you https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/X...

Unregistered makers/sponsor marks

Hi, is there someone who would like to give me, or direct me to, a quick education on unregistered (18th century) marks. Why did makers not register? Having not registered how did they get their pieces assayed? Were unregistered makers marks illegal?

Thank you

Anthony
