Thank you for your information. On the knowledge that the box is Chinese does the mark give any clue as to the age? I assume later 20th century. Am I correct? Regardless, I do appreciate your help.

I have in my collection a silver trinket box with a lift off lid. It has marks on the bottom, but my searches reveal no clues as to their exact origin. They even may be upside down!
