Found Them

Just to let anybody who is intrested know, they have turned out to be some very good marks indeed, they are Barber, Cattle and North (York) 1824 page 466 Jacksons

George Wintle ?

A puzzle, two pairs of tongs with G W in a oblong with no pellet, both tongs London for 1792, George Wintle marks for that period are in a oval and a pellet, any body any ideas, have been through the large "Jacksons" with no avail.

William Eley or Robert Eley?

Does anybody know what the mark entered by William Eley on his own in 1797 look like ? that year he entered 2 marks one with William Fearn, and one by himself, the next mark he entered was in 1808 with Fearn and Chawner. The only marks l have seen of Robert Eley in 1787 an W E in an square and in 17...

l have a pair of English sugar tongs where the makers mark is one l cannot find,the tongs only have a "lion passant and a george duty mark (cameo) which leads me to think they are late 18th cent,but they are not "bright cut" and are from the "fiddle pattern* the mark is B C above & N.
