Re: That "other" Christofle solid silver mark

. Thanks for your comment I do nothing for anything without reasons. If you want to save this Makers Mark (what is mentioned) , it is called Christofleearlymark.jpg (Christofle-early-mark.jpg) This is posted by 2209patrick who also built Christofle: Marks & History This means that it is older th...

Re: That "other" Christofle solid silver mark

Hi Dendriet, Sorry to hear that you don't think we work hard enough or fast enough on this website. Perhaps you would like your subscription returned? Trev. With surprise I have taken note of the above reaction. I finally thought that someone was right-minded and was paying attention to this item. ...

When I look at photo 2 it is rather an ax than a hammer.
That makes a huge difference
Furthermore, the photo is very blurred

Re: Gilt French spoon

Hi, Blackstone, You always go deeper into an investigation, and that is very special how you do that. The attention you give to this is always very instructive. You have assisted me many times in the past, and the knowledge you have is extraordinary. Just back on this subject the makers mark is very...

Re: Please help me identify the Belgian silversmith of the cruet

Sorry Dendriet..it was the only reference point found in search function. Thankfully Peter was able to confirm the authenticity by his postings. Should be helpful for future questions to have links, even to poor samples (which can then be dissected further if needed). No, it was also a frustrated r...

Re: Please help me identify the Belgian silversmith of the cruet

Hi,

I think it should be Brugge / Bruges.

Unfortunately, at this moment I can not have the books

But then I may have put this in the right direction.

There are others who have also these books.

Good luck

Re: Gilt French spoon

.

If I see correctly, the 65 department should be Hautes-Pyrénées

In this region I often find religious silver (Lourdes).

Please send a reaction about this possibility to correctness.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Sugar tongs - France - export - Makers Mark ??

#JayT,

I had looked this up before, but did not know where I had written it
I start to doubt myself.
Short memory.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things more than once.
Thank you for having found my memories, JayT. :) :)

Re: Very rare and solid Silver from Christofle

. The vain hope that I had is now gone. The Musée Bouilhet-Christofle is closed. Many of these things now remain a mystery, or is Christofle not very transparent. The sugar tong has two Minerva images, and also two Bigornes, how can a Makers Mark that is known but nowhere in the books to be found, b...

Re: Very rare and solid Silver from Christofle

The mark (CC, 3 stars and a bee) was entered at the garantie in Paris in 1832. Thank you for your reaction, and it is even in the correspondence below The story of JayT also continues. https://translate.google.nl/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%...
