Re: Danish spoon. Who is the maker?

Hi, Bahner!
Thank you very much for the information!
Consequently, the maker of the spoon is V.Christesen. However, in all known to me sources told that he had worked since 1893, and the annual stamp on the spoon is 1875. How can it be?
Best regards, Alex.

Danish spoon. Who is the maker?

Hello! I have an old Danish spoon. Annual stamp 1875, assay master - Simon Groth. On the spoon there are 3 more stamps - "V.Christesen", "CP" and running winged man with a torch. http://i49.tinypic.com/oifs8.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/yjv3l.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/110zr42.jpg ...

Re: German ladle-strainer?

Hi, Theoderich!
Thanks for the interesting information. You think that the marks between "12" and "Frederick" - are the digits 6 and 7? But where is the Stettin city hallmark?
Best regards. Alex.

German ladle-strainer?

Hi all! This is my second post :-). I have an old ladle-strainer. I suppose it was made in Germany. One of the hallmarks (second left), a bit like the Flensburg city hallmark, but the rest hallmarks I do not know. http://i47.tinypic.com/2i70a3o.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/240x7p5.jpg I would be grate...

Re: Mystery item

I think the arguments of "davidross" and "AG2012" are very convincing and we must admit that this subject - a Greek oil lamp. Now I see that my initial opinion of the Asian origin of this subject was a mistake. Many thanks to all, and especially "davidross" and "AG...

Re: Mystery item

Hi all! Now I have no doubt that this is an oil lamp, but I still think it's from the Far East or South-East Asia. In the alphabets of these countries there are many characters, similar to the marks on my lamp. For example, Japanese and Tamil alphabet: http://i49.tinypic.com/2yos9pf.jpg http://i45.t...

Re: Mystery item

Thank you. I also think that this is an oil lamp. But I want to know the origin and age. Silver 1000 is used only in Japan, but the hierogliphs are not similar on Japanese.

Mystery item

Hi all! I am from Russia. This is my first post on the forum. I have an interesting mystery item. I think it's the Asian thing, but from where - I don't know. Maybe someone knows what is it and what is its origin? I would be grateful for any tips. http://i50.tinypic.com/2gwtmxe.jpg http://i49.tinypi...
