Re: Help identify hallmarks

Yes, it's really ИГ. Then it may be Иван Фёдорович Головин (Ivan Fyodorovich Golovin), the owner of workshop, mentioned in 1861-1884. The year's mark is 1879 - not 1872! Assayer Ivan Konstantinov worked in 1875-1882.

Re: Is this a Hanau mark

It seems to me these marks belong to J. D. Schleissner & Söhne.

Re: Is it fake?

Hi AG2012! Thanks for your reply.

In my opinion the German marks are similar to Gebruder Deyhle
http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_2.html
But I've never seen German items of 875 fineness and I've never seen Russian import mark of Warsaw custom.

Best regards.

Re: Morozov again...

Friedrich Wilhelm Jacoby was known in 1813-1831 but assay mark on your spoon is of 1882-1898. I see maker's mark EL but not FI.

Hi Goldstein!
Thanks for your reply but it's too simple solution. I have Leistikow, I have Wilite, I read other books... In fact, the letter is E, not F.

Re: A family´s silver

Hi Goldstein! Ilya Sorokin was the chief of Riga assay office in 1888-1891, Alexander Romanov - in 1895-1898, Kliment Zagaevskiy - in 1899-1916. There are many interesting books besides Postnikova-Loseva and Leistikow :-). I hope you can read in Russian. Alex. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg ...

Hello Dad!
Many thanks for your quick and useful answer! So my last two questions:
1. Who is really Reval assayer ИС - Stepanov, Spiridonov or someone else?
2. Have you any examples of Reval marks of 1875-1885 except marks LM?
Best regards.

Re: A family´s silver

Goldstein, Qrt.S - many thanks for your examples! But if Reval assay office worked in 1875-1885 I repeat my question: " Why many Estonian makers used the assay offices in St.Peterburg, Riga and Pskov in 1875-1885? " I can ask you to show examples: who? when? where? Then the answer will be...

Hello Dad!
Why many Estonian makers used the assay offices in St.Peterburg, Riga and Pskov in 1875-1885?
I would like to see the Reval hallmarks of that period.
Thanks in advance. Alex.
