Re: Help with marks

Hello Sasropakis!
Thank you for your quick reply! I think you are right - it is Swedish.
Unfortunately the marks are badly spread and it will hardly be possible to identify the maker.
Regards.

Thanx, I shall immediately correct the name.

Qrt.S, don't do this! Skurlov's list contains some errors. This is one of them. Everything should be checked by the archives.

Hi Qrt.S!
Thank you so much for your quick and comprehensive answer!
Unfortunately old Finnish silver is rare in my country so my knowledge of this area is far from perfect.
All hopes for you!

Danish assayer Christian Olsen Møller

Hello! I want to show the rare mark of the Danish assayer Christian Olsen Møller (1831-1840). It seems to me that this mark was not previously mentioned in reference books. The makers mark PF belongs to Pierre Frontin, who worked in 1768-1837. Regards. http://images.vfl.ru/ii/1612897200/c347e151/332...

Re: Whiff box import from Germany

@ Ubaranda Andrzei Wyrzykov and Alexander Vyrzhikovsky are one and the same person. But mind my asking, what makes you so sure it is him? Nothing indicates that except the letter B. It could belong to any of the mentioned assayers? Hi Qrt.S ! As you know the mark in question was used in 1899-1908. ...

Re: Whiff box import from Germany

Hello!
The mark "B" belongs to Alexander Kazimirovich Vyrzhikovsky (Александр Казимирович Выржиковский). He was the head of the assay office in Kiev in 1882 - April 1904 and in Warsaw in April 1904 - 1915.
Import operations were certainly carried out both in Kiev and in Warsaw.
