Can you make a better picture about the city mark? I'm collecting the pre 1867 antique hungarian hallmarks, and I don't have Nyitra 1835. Or it is 1836? Thank you in advance! BEst regards! Krisztián
Hello! Welcome to the forum! Your box made in the Hungarian Kingdom, 1835, in the city of Nyitra (Today belongs to Slovakia, Nitra) The maker is Johannes Ludwig. (born in 1804, died 1847) Nice piece, i like it! Best regards! Krisztián
Ok. The marks are in a silver cigar box with beautiful engraving style trompe l'oeil. So this maybe could help about the maker's specific. The box is not my own, but if it is necessery, I will try to ask the owner. Best regards! Krisztián

Dear Qrt.s! I agree with Thederic. This assumption is partly based on the assumption that Romanian territories adjacent to Transylvania were likely to work with a similar signaling system, and that many similar ones were found in that region, sometimes with romanian hallmarks, and typical decoration...
Dear Members! I made a hallmark photo of a 19. century silver fork. Made in Italy, Dukedom of Modena 1818-1872. Dear Stephan! You are wrong, there is mark for silver. You can see the number 13 in the hallmark. That means 13 lot fineness (812,5‰). In central Europe (including Germany, Poland before 1790, Austria/Hungary was useful this system. 12 or 13 lot was the frequent fineness. Thanky you! Best regards! K...
