Re: Mystery Maker possibly West Country

Hi agphile,
Sorry the photo doesn't show but it is not a rattail. I shall try and get a photo of the back of the bowl so you can see. I have searched high and low and cannot find any attribution of the mark yet! This one is still a mystery to me so far!
Kind regards Rhodri.

Re: Marrow spoon maker

Hi Miles, thanks for your response. I have compared the mark since the original post, side by side with another Allen item (a trefid) and the mark seems to match perfectly. The scoop shows no signs of being converted from another spoon as far as I can tell, it all seems perfectly formed. Like other ...

Re: Additional flower mark

Hello Warren, Thanks for your input. The makers mark is very rubbed but under a 20x loupe the letters visible are definitely a E above a H. After lots of searching the only match I can find is James Ede and Alexander Hewat (grimwade 1278). Registered in 1808 so the date matches well. The other mark ...

Re: T&Co unknown mark

Just a note on martins question, the piece doesn't have to have a set of scales post 1976. The scale would be present as part of a convention mark. Don't want to go too of topic but this website might help : http://www.hallmarkingconvention.org/
