The 5 chars are "幣局謹製", means "Made by Coin Mint Office Seriously", should be a Japanese Silver item, but I have no idea about the age.

Re: Need help Identifying mark on cigarette case

Thank you, I will bring it to an antique dealer that specializes in antiques from Asia, if he cant tell whether it is silver or silver plated do you think a jeweler could? I think some jewelers and some people who have rich experiences on collecting or selling silverware may be helpful to check it ...

The 2nd mark is "" and 3nd mark is word of Thai. They are probably the maker's mark in Chinese and the fineness number in Thai language.

Re: Need help Identifying mark on cigarette case

It's " 銀製 ", a mark always used on Japanese items, means made with silver. It can be solid silver or silver plated. I personally don't suggest anyone to buy an item having this mark, especially which looks moden made, because almost each of them is silver plated. The solid silver mark in J...

Just to see if I understood. The first mark WH or HM is a retailer’s mark for Hong Kong retail & export companies, the second mark read actually CS (Z) and OG stands for 90. OK?

Regards,

Oel

Yes, the OG mark is actually 90 for the fineness.

Re: Dragon Teapot - Any info?

Specifically, I think the people who made this punch have misread the numerals "90" and rendered them "GO" instead. Also the WH and chinese letters look quite crude. However, I am far from an expert in this field and so wish to tread carefully before condemning someone's propert...

Re: Chinese Silver Marking ID

Yes, it's Luen Hing, one of an important Chinese trade silver companies founded by Guangdong merchants in Shanghai (like Luen Wo, Zee Wo, Zee Sung, Yok Sung, etc). Possibly c1875-c1930 at No.231 Sichuan Road. "鄭鏜" (Zheng Tang) should be the name of the silversmith or his firm.

mmm... Still couldn't read the text on the mark, maybe "新犬"?

The mark is also unknown to me, but it should be a Chinese silver tea set made between c1880~1947.

Re: Can you help with these markings Chinese silver tea set

The first mark "金" should be the mark of a silversmith.
The mark 85 is the fineness, though it might be higher or lower than 85%.
The 3rd mark should be the reseller or store, it's the most important one, but I couldn't figure it out from you picture. Maybe you can give me a large one?
