The best method is to use a "macro" (close-up) lens, a ring flash and a tripod. The lens I use is a 100mm macro (f/2.8) but set it to a high aperature (smaller opening)of around f/11, which will give a greater deapth of field. I recommend a ring flash since it fits around your camera lens ...
