Unknown maker´s mark?

Hi all - I have several spoons with a "Bear"- mark I can not locate to a certain firm (Berndorfer???) or office. One fact is clear, the spoons have been imported to Russia (Latvia was at that time unde Russian rule). Here the photos and description of spoon 1: Imported via St. Petersburg a...

Re: Caviar spoon 2

In view of the Christmas peace I give you the last word - immensely important for you - even if you always dodging my sound arguments. I spoke of the significant form of the St. George used by Ovtschinnikov, but you avoid an answer - I miss that in your spoon. It does not matter! It is more or less ...

How about the significant St. Georg alwys used by Ovtschinnikov objects? Compare with your example. http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/OvtschinnikovPawel03.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/OvtschinnikovPawel03a.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postni...

As promised here some photos of the real Ovtschinnikov mark - it is 5 mm and very detailed especially the eagle. Now you can compare. Note the quality Ovtshinnikov was famous for. http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/Bild006-3.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/Postnicov/Bild...

Re: Caviar spoon 2

I have some doubts about the Ovtschinnikov mark (I can not see who of the Ovtschinnikovs was the maker - unclear photo ). The assayer Anatoli Artsibaschev was 1897- 1898 on duty, the spoon is dated 1889, the St. Georg is facing left - in this form starting 1891-1896. The St. Georg on Pavel Ovtschinn...

Re: Caviar spoon

Not every cup is a kiddush cup and not every spoon is a caviar spoon! Silver and caviar taste like sulphur. Caviar spoons are made of horn, bone , mother of pearl, wood, maybe plastic but never of silver. For Serbian silvermarks Google may help - the photo of the spoon´s marks are not clear enough ...

Hi - you are the only expert (see below) on this forum: However, the next question is: Authentic or fake? Difficult to say because nowadays cloisonneé objects are very often fakes. As for now the chance is 50/50 needing a closer investigation. %0% fake? Bravo! What a luck to have you among us. It i...
