Re: Russian spoon from Moscow 1826

Hi, Zolotnik. Unfortunately, I have no other photos. I ask to notice that the spoon is old and with the "eaten" edge. My taste is normal. I wanted to tell that on a snuffbox scenes from the West European life, instead of Russian are represented. But it doesn't disturb you, isn't it? As wel...

Re: Russian spoon from Moscow 1826

Hi, All. It is a normal spoon. Russia isn't the closed territory. 1826 - 10 years have passed after campaigns across Europe and victories over Napoleon. In Russia did spoons in the European style, too. Here the "sister" of Ringo's spoon))): http://i53.tinypic.com/atp46v.jpg I don't like pi...

I see to the right of Russian mark of import - " 875М ". What countries marked such punch of silver fineness? In addition : Russian mark for the import items: " 84 + town mark (customs) + ПТ (привозной товар). If I am right and to the right of the russian import mark...

Re: Russian spoon from Moscow 1826

This is an interesting and strange spoon. As stated, it does not look Russian and the marks are on an odd place. The assayer could possibly indicate Nikolai Dubrovin but on the spoon is punched НД (ND) while Zolotnik's example shows НЛ (NL)??? Maybe Postnikova made an error? The letters could h...

Re: Russian spoon from Moscow 1826

Hi, All.
I will add the 2 cents))). The first letter in Russian silversmiths mark - a name silversmith. It is difficult to find a name which begins on a letter "Ц". It is almost impossible. Certainly "ПФ".
It's normal marks.

Hi, All. I haven't defined where this "horn" is made. Probably it is valid: is made in Estonia between 1924-1940. As show marks. But this horn didn't leave Estonia and has been again marked in the Soviet Estonia in 1946-1954 after restoration at “Factory of Art Products” in Tallinn “(Talli...

As you stated that you have no experience with Russian marks - I will explain it in detail: The match book cover was made in Vilnius 1899-1908 under Russian rule bei the silversmith НШ (N Sch) Nicolai Schepelew (Schepilow), 02. 05. 1862 -1920 from Riga, a well known smith. Re: I need help identifying these spoons

Evening Dad, It is interesting that you brought these marks up to discussion. I have many times earlier wondered about the mark P #2017. I have come to the conclusion that it is a lousy copy of the genuine mark. It looks like this and it is not similar with the mark on the spoon. It is close but no...

Re: I need help identifying these spoons

A completely different questions is the ХИ mark you show in the last of picture. It has nothing to do with the earlier picture with the ХИ with two dots piette pointed out. Hi, Qrt.S. You have not understood. The shown spoon with mark is the answer to Zolotnik . He asked to set an example spoon...
