Re: Russian Silver Oclad

Hi! The assay marks on the riza are correct. Unfortunately, I can only offer an extract from Ivanov-Skurlov's book. Look some Workshops in St. Petersburg with a maker's mark "ПА" of your icon's time period. To your choose. To whom, specifically, the "ПА" belongs, I don't know. ht...

Ok. Look and compare. The round mark was punched deeply usually. Its preservation is usually good.

Re: Marks Silver Gilt Cufflinks

Thanks for the photo. Very informative. Now I am completely sure that the item is 100% fake. From the first second of life. In addition. I do not remember a single successful fals round stamp with a kokoshnik. If you acquired this item as Russia in the early 20th century, then this is a sad mistake.

Re: Marks Silver Gilt Cufflinks

Quite good quality of Hallmarks. But I think this is fake. If you can, take clear pictures of the round punch with a kokoshnik. There are also too many productions marks. This style of the product is often used in Faberge fakes.

Re: Kostroma Silversmith identifiction

Hi,
look in the book of P.-L. number 828. Vaganov Vasily Fedorovich. In the book of P.-L. the stamp "В.В" (Vaganov Vasily Fedorovich) is indicated. But silversmiths often used punch of 3 letters of the name (+ patronymic). Then there will be "ВФВ".

Link to the author's abstract. The content of the dissertation is summarized here in an editable format. Translate the data for 4 cities in Google: Vologda, Arkhangelsk, V. Ustyug and Vyatka. That's not a lot.

Re: Icona, Christ Pantocrator

Yes. This is true. Everything that is written about Kiev during this period in the book of P.-L. must be transferred to Arkhangelsk. Assay master В.Ф. (V.F.) has the surname Frolov. The name is possibly Vasily. In addition to my sources, you can see the dissertation of V.L. Zhuravleva (chief curator...

Re: Icona, Christ Pantocrator

Good evening, Qrt.S. In real, these stamps are an unsuccessful attempt to tie this icon to Kiev in 1778. However, the fraudsters relied on false data from the book of P.-L. Further, we can say that the first assay tent in Kiev began to operate only in 1827. But all the products before this year that...

Re: Need help with marks on enammeled box

Hi,

I think, all punches as it should be. Vladimirov is a retailer. Punch of the real maker is situated below (deep) the Vladimirov punch. Therefore defects are around the letters "м”, “i” and "р”.
