Hi,

Goldstein, you are mistaken a little. The first brand "Л" in a square cartouche. This mark from 1908.
"П" in a square cartouche was in use after 1927.

Hi If I was "Goldstein", I would doubt authenticity of a punch of "Lyubavin".)) I do not like Lyubavin (St. Petersburg) who sells the Moscow spoons. I would assume that it is the upgrade aiming to raise the price. Like that: https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg

Re: Help with hallmarks

Dear Qrt.S. I already wrote: my sources - documents of Mining Department. Your assumptions are have very weak logic. If the silversmith has brought a product (own or import) for punching in assay office, he will be written down in office book and will pay duty. Why how you claim, he won't punch the ...

Hi. I want to tell that in Yashinkov's work there was no evil (commercial) intention. Only the negligent relation to the duties. Understand me correctly. He was the honored official. After dismissal from a position of the head of Assay Office, the Mining Department continued to pay for his merits to...

Re: Help with hallmarks

Such violations: frequent lack of punch of the producer and of date + other violations became the reason of check of work of the Petersburg assay office and became the reason of discharge of Yashinkov from a position of the head of office in 1825. The checking commission was headed by Karpinsky who ...

Re: Help with hallmarks

Hi.

Qrt.S, I think, it (punches of "АЯ" 1795 and 1796) don't exist. According to my data, Yashinkov has begun to work in this position since 1797, only.

Thanks, Goldstein. But I asked about 1795-96 punches ..
