Hello, the Friodur-process was invented and patented by Henckels in the late 1930ies, but due to the war it was not introduced on a large scale until the early 1950ies. The WMF company bought its blades from Henckels at that time, that is why its cutlery often has the Friodur-Henckels mark. The '90'...

Hello, this is comparatively new stuff from Germany. The ''n'' in a shield on the left hand side is the mark of Neresheimer from Hanau/Germany. They had specialised in imitating old silver objects. The mark on the right hand side imitates old Augsburg marks. The date of this piece is probably the fi...

Hello, all pieces were made by Wilkens after 1884. Wagner was a retailer from Berlin, one of the suppliers to the Imperial German Court. He had his shop on Unter den Linden 30 (until 1913), after that it was on Unter den Linden 16. The shop existed well into the 1930ies. Best wishes, Bahner

Hi all, the mark of Murat (C and M, plus a flower with two leaves, actually the flower of a blooming mulberry-bush, 'mure' is French for mulberry) looking pretty much like Your mark, was published by 'Paris Bijoux' in 1970 in their dictionary of marks. So I rather think Murat is the one. Best wishes...

Hello, this looks like the mark of Friedrich Wilhelm von Kuerten, a Remscheid wholesaler. Founded in 1865, active until about 1975. He probably did not make this, he just sold it. Best wishes, Bahner

Hello, this is plate. 90 is the weight of silver in 'Gramm' used in electroplating. 'Rostfrei' is 'stainless'. There was a retailer in Solingen, 'Moellers and Co.', active in the 1950ies and 60ies. His was mostly a mail-order business. Maybe he is the one. Best wishes, Bahner

Hi all, just a gut feeling: when I saw this, I thougt this could be German, around 1850/60. The double-headed lion was used by a couple of German cities. And it could explain the absence of other marks. Best wishes, Bahner

Hello, this is plate. The numbers 90 and 100 have to to with the actual weight of silver in Gramm used in electroplating. The maker was Franz Bahner in Duesseldorf, founded in 1895, dissolved in 1962. Bahner took up production of plated cutlery around 1939, so this was made between 1939 and 1962. Be...
