Hi all, an identical piece came up for auction in Munich some time ago. The name of the maker was given as Meyle & Mayer from Pforzheim, Germany. The maker's mark was described as looking like a dragonfly. The mark of M & M as listed in the books is somewhat different though. Now I wonder .....

Hello, 'HGB' is Hedbergs Guld and Boettverkstad, active from 1946-1961 in Stockholm. The 'I9' is for the year of production: 1959. One of the smaller marks (I cannot see it clearly on my screen), should be the town mark of Stockholm. As to the fifth mark - I cannot see that either. Best wishes, Bahner

Hello, this is Swedish silver. Y4 is for 1853. There is an And. Theodor Barkman in the town of Varberg. Active around 1828 to 1865, died in 1867. The town mark of Varberg is a goat, reaching up a tree, all inside a circle. Sounds pretty much like this is the one. Best wishes, Bahner
