Mexican Snuff Box

HI all, Can anyone assist with this particular box. It is by Camacho of Mexico, I am however trying to determine the likely date of it, it looks 19th century but was just looking if possible to narrow down the date of it? I would guess c.1850-1880 Regards, Colin https://i.postimg.cc/hP6gQjWh/76A.jpg...

Help with Pseudo Marks

Hello All, I wonder if anyone can assist here, the marks on this meat skewer at first glance would appear to be English, however on close inspection the duty head is all wrong , the marks appear to be trying to be from London 1798. The initial thought was Chinese but I am have been informed by a rel...

Longshot on a French Vesta Case

Hi all, This one I think will be a longshot but costs nothing to ask and maybe someone can see enough to recognise this French makers mark, Can be difficult at the best of times to make things out but this one I would say is poorly struck and a little rubbed so I can not determine any of the letters...

Assistance with Polish Silver Box

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this box, am I missing something glaringly obvious? The internal base section has this brass looking part which rotates, if the brass section was deeper you would say it was for pills but there is very little depth on it for this purpose. Its Polish i...

Re: Spanish?? Inkwell

Hi all, A friend with a wealth of knowledge has solved this one for me. Diego de la Vega y Torres was appointed assay master in Cordoba in 1804, a position he occupied during the following six years. When reelected in 1817, his nomination was contested as he had last been reappointed to this positio...

Spanish?? Inkwell

Hello all. I wonder if anyone can assist with this very interesting inkwell. I think Spanish but I could be wrong, one mark I can not make out, the one on both sections whilst a bit rubbed looks a bit like a pot of flowers mark used 1700-1800 but is this piece that old? the last is VEGA but I can fi...

Thanks a lot AD2012,

Very much appreciated. Marks a bit worn on makers/assayers mark so will work on that should no one recognise.

Help with Russian Silver Snuff Box

I wonder, Can anyone assist with pretty much all of this box. 1/. What does in English the wording on lid say? 2/.Does anyone recognise maker, I am assuming it will be late 19th century. 3/. The scenes to the lid and base, are they of anything that anyone recognises? https://i.postimg.cc/N0B16dHm/P2...

Assistance with a makers mark P.O.R

Hi , I wonder if anyone can assist with this piece, we believe to be a sardine server?
