Old post, but maybe worth a follow up.. I subjected this item to XRF today, and Acapulco was correct. The item is not silver, but pewter. The primary metal constituent was lead.
Anyone run into one like this?! What era? Who made these? When? I found a similar one in amethyst, but not this art nouveau warrior silver cabochon. Your thoughts are welcomed!
Anyone know the country of origin for this piece? I'm thinking the repousse and rooster are distinctive.. Unmarked except for some little dots. Hand hammered and generally fully handmade.
