Re: Need help identifying hallmarks.

It certainly looks as though it has passed through Germany... "The zigzag line, known by the unlikely name of a "diet" in English, is called a "Tremolierstich" in German. (I like the term "proofstrike", which I see occasionally in English translations of German cat...

Need Maker for Palermo, Italy PA142

Anyone have a list of the Palermo, Italy makers? Trying to ID this relatively modern fish set made in 800 silver.

Thanks!
Nate

In hopes of helping the next person along, these spoons turned out to be Thomas Dicks, London, 1808.

Georgian Mark or a Fake?

Can anyone help with this mark? It's odd because it doesn't have a city mark. Is this a fake?

Thanks for considering!

I agree. That's my theory as well. Wonder when the items were made? How old was your "coin"?

Re: Need Your Eyes on an 18th Century French Object

Old post, but maybe worth a follow up.. I subjected this item to XRF today, and Acapulco was correct. The item is not silver, but pewter. The primary metal constituent was lead.

What!? Art Nouveau Mexican Cuff

Anyone run into one like this?! What era? Who made these? When? I found a similar one in amethyst, but not this art nouveau warrior silver cabochon. Your thoughts are welcomed!

Hm. Could be. I have no experience with Greek silver. Can anyone second that? I appreciate it, Cheryl.

Thank you. I think it could be! I have a Thai community near me. I'll see if they can read it.

Re: Repousse Scallop Dish -- Need a Little Help!

Does anyone else think that second mark could be:

Г42

The Г is a cyrillic character.

Thanks again!

This attractive dish has an unknown hallmark. Can't seem to locate this one, though I found another example of it here:

Anyone recognize? Many thanks for considering.

Rooster Covered Bowl

Anyone know the country of origin for this piece? I'm thinking the repousse and rooster are distinctive.. Unmarked except for some little dots. Hand hammered and generally fully handmade.

Asian Silver Belt with 3 Piece Qílín Buckle

Can anyone recognize the marks on this silver belt? About 246 grams on the piece. I'm unsure of what the language is here or country of origin.. Any help greatly appreciated.
