Re: 1885 Spoons - Can you ID the maker?

I took numerous new photos and added them to the album referenced above trying to capture more of this mark.

This is probably the best one: http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/jj5 ... C_0305.jpg

Re: 1885 Spoons - Can you ID the maker?

The spoons are engraved by the owner or recipient on the back of the handle: "D.E.K. 85". The spoons appear to be silversmith made rather than production made. I will attempt a sharper image, though it's the hallmark not the photo that is not too clear. Thanks, Nate

1885 Spoons - Can you ID the maker?

Gorgeous little pair of spoons dated for 1885. Stamp is "830" and "?.J.", possibly "O.J." or "A.J." or "G.J." I think these are from Norway, but possibly they could be Danish. Very nicely made with lily of the valley embellishments and a twisted stem...

Thank you, Bahner! I didn't think I would ever get that figured out! So, Albrecht Kuenne probably? Do people feel 1920 is a good estimate on the date?

Re: Ornate Dutch Silver Fork and Spoon

Thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful remarks. This is more or less what I was expecting in terms of the pieces being tourist items. They are so over the top in terms of styling. I definitely am glad to know the maker and to better understand these pseudomarks. As well, thank you for helping m...

Ornate Dutch Silver Fork and Spoon

Both pieces have the same motifs: crowned lion, child, person's face. They are obviously a pair. However, there is something unusual about the marks. The fork is stamped on the back. It has "13", "n", and possibly the word "Germany". The word Germany has been scratched ...

German Pastry Forks

A little help would be greatly appreciated on the marks of these pastry forks. I think they are about 1920.

After a bit of work, I think this is a Kiddush Cup.

"SJ" Maker's mark on Polish 800 silver cup

Hi there,

Picked up a small silver cup today with the Polish post 1920 pre 1963 hallmark for .800 silver. I'm curious if anyone recognizes the SJ mark or knows what the purpose of a tiny 3.25" tall cup is..Seems small even for an appertif cup..I would add photos but don't see a way to do that.
