Re: Strange set, only double maker, help wanted

Like always your right. I just read that this mark must be by Hendrik NijMan, 1797-1815 accoarding to my source. It also explains the missing assay/year/silver level as silver/goldsmiths from Kampen only had to go to the assay office in Zwolle from 1812. Thanks again :)

Strange set, only double maker, help wanted

Strange set, only double maker, help wanted Somehow this spoon and fork only have a double strike of the maker mark: HNM or WNH? They came with other silverware from Holland, so most likely its origin. With the double maker mark there is only 1810 and KJ. Ive read that silver-plating was invented 18...

Unknown markings on knifes, help wanted I absolutely don't know nothing about these markings, all information is welcome. Somehow there are only 3 markings instead of the more common 4 markings? The handles are all filled with sand. I have 6 of them, and most are to worn to even see the markings, sh...

Re: New question 2

I dont say you know little, but she told me that price and told me you have to fill out a form and then check the box that you dont want it marked "metal" in front or else they will do it. Still I think its to expensive if there are more costs involved. If you have to pay 50 euro for a cof...

Re: New question 2

Oel, You know a lot but not everything... "Als ik het goed begrijp betaal ik dus 4,35 euro per item voor zilver dat ik overgekocht heb (via internet) om het te laten keuren met een gehaltekeur?" "Als het om gebruikte voorwerpen gaat, betaald u inderdaad €4,35 per voorwerp." E-m...

Re: New question 2

Checked Gouda, the costs for a used product is 4,35 euro a piece.
It's low, but I dont want to take the risk of getting "Metal" smeshed on it when it isnt silver though.
So I guess I just leave it like this.

Re: New question

Yes ok, but the mark then does say its at least silver, and not plated, right?

Re: New question

Ok this is weird, check this out:

(admin edit)

But the V = Vreemd (Unknown) I guess translated is most suitable.
But its "Vreemd" as in Unkown silver? Since its a silver mark?
Doesn't that say its at least made of silver?
