Re: Unknown Maker Ring TB?

It most likely says 925S and TH for Thailand. There are many jewelry manufactures in Thailand who mostly make things for others to retail so they don't put any makers marks on them. The piece is an old style but it of contemporary make.

Re: Help With Maker's Marks

No problem Bamunka, if you could just make sure your pictures stay up it would be a great help to other researchers as this is a more obscure mark and there are not many others to compare it too. I only ask as your other pictures have disappeared.

Re: Help With Maker's Marks

If Jackson's guide is to be believed, I think your tankard is actually from Cork Ireland and made by John Ricketts sometime in the 2nd quarter of the 18th century

Re: Coin Silver Salt Spoon Deer/Stag Hallmark

I am sure that I am wrong but I figured I would bump your object forward with a dumb thought on your spoon. Your spoon looks very American to me and that 900/1000 is definitely American but the Deer mark looks like the mark for the Polish city of Dobre Miasto. I am certain that this is not a Polish ...

Re: Silver deer miniature

Hi, that eagle head mark looks to me like the French 18K gold hallmark. The piece looks silver to me though. Perhaps the links are gold and the animal head is silver? Are there any other marks on the piece?

Re: S Hallmark Coin Silver Spoon

Hi, lovely spoon. at 6" its a teaspoon. Teaspoons in America had grown much larger than their European forbears. Around 1790 you start to notice the increase. There is usually about as much silver in these spoons as there is in their smaller British cousins though.

Re: I dont know this maker

The second mark is definitely one of William Gales, the diamond underneath reads 1845 so its probably Gale & Hayden as that is the first year they started their partnership (it is also a date mark so this piece is from 1845). I don't know what the B is for. As for the other picture, it is too sm...

Re: Silver Reference Books Section?

Thank you again for your recommendations. Now that I know those books exist and are useful they will go on my daily watch list. I watch to see if an affordable copy shows up. If you check regularly you can get lucky. You are right about them being pricey

unfortunately, unless someone has the exact same thing and it is marked, there is no way to tell who made this.

Re: Can anyone help me identify the picture hallmark on this ring?

Hi, not sure if you are still checking this but I can offer a little information regarding the piece. I am in the second-hand jewelry business and sort through and research a great many pieces of jewelry, especially silver jewelry. The blurry mark on your ring is a 925 that's been overstamped. The o...

Re: Silver Reference Books Section?

honestly, my favorite thing to do is buy pieces with marks I've never seen and then buy books to figure them out after. I have my tardy's which is always a great starting point. Your French reference recommendations are going on my list and that is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for. I have ...

Re: Silver Reference Books Section?

that is a great place to start but I have already scoured and bought any books I needed from that list and I don't think it has been updated in a while. Honestly, the best way I have found some very useful and sometimes obscure books is reading other peoples posts when they help somebody else and ci...

Silver Reference Books Section?

Is there a section in here that discusses silver resource books? I am always looking to increase my library but some books are expensive and there is scant information about them out there and of course, there are so many books I have yet to discover. I think it would be fun if there was a section d...

Unusual Tiffany & Co Tankards

https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg I love these and use them every Sunday. They have two strange monograms on them but my question is regarding the pattern number. From what I can tell pattern numbers stopped in the 23,000's. The pattern number on these is...
